Mine also has to be opened the whole way but once up stays up fine.

My sister had a bad earth wire on her Focus which caused it to run wierd. The headlight's and rpm dipped when she pressed the clutch, if the heater was on it would dip. she took it to a mechanic who changed the earth cable...

So My plan today was to change the thermostat and temp sensor as for a while the heater was only blowing cold and the temperature guage was showing that the car was not getting up to temperature. then a few days ago the temperature needle didn't move from the bottom that's why...
Quick question when I set the heater control to hot do i turn the fan on?
Ive been looking on youtube and some people say put the heater to hot and turn the fan on, and others say to turn it to hot and keep the fan off:confused:

My shitbox failed the irish version of the MOT yesterday on emissions. It failed the high idle CO @ 0.58% above 0.30% = fail.
It got new oil and filter, air filter, spark plugs and fuel filter earlier in the week. It got a new cat last year for the test at 155685 miles. It now has 170588...
Ha, No lead foot but something's wrong because i can smell the un-burnt petrol. no warning lights and it's running perfect in every other way so idk .:S Next service is due in 5k miles so ill change everything and hope that sorts it.
EDIT: Just thinking, the car takes a while to heat up so...
