Before I get flamed this is only what has happened to my car, and im not saying for one minute that everyones car is the same.
My valver has been running a de cat and Scorpion stainless cat back, along with a K&N filter element in the air box, hooked up to a cold air feed taking air from the...
If its clicking constantly then maybe you have a bad earth. I had the same problem, wouldnt start and one of the relays kept clicking. An earth had worked itself loose, the one that clamps itself onto the back of the gearbox. Check in the haynes manual for the location of your main earths and...
Dont know about the 1.4s but on mine there is a connection onto the gearbox, you can see it from above if you remove the battery. Its a green multiplug - try giving it a clean as it can get full of oil.
Im in Preston mate, Lancs. Checked the fuses under the bonnet and they are all fine. Ill have a look at the bulbs tomorrow but I cant see every single one blowing at once! Ill get the dash out and trace the wires, see if I can see a broken earth or something.
Try changing the potentiometer over. You should be able to get one from a breakers yard for £5-10. I think I paid £5 for mine and that sorted the problem. Or if you know someone with a valver see if you can borrow theirs; it only takes 2 mins to swop it over. I got mine from a 19 16v, always...
Yeah its a mk1 phase1, thanks for that lunner ill have a look tomorrow. I suspect with the front fogs going at the same time there is a wiring fault somewhere so its going to be a long day!
Ive checked the fuses but they all seem to be fine, and it doesnt look like there is a specific fuse for the dash lights. Its got a rheostat in the form of a dimmer but I cant see this being the problem. Thanks for the reply Jay, and has anyone else got any ideas?
About 2 weeks ago i noticed my dash lights stopped working. The only bulbs that work are the green main beam bulb, the rear fogs bulb and the heated rear window. Everything else is in total darkness. Is there a relay/fuse specifically for the dash lights?
Also it appears the front fogs arent...
The clio costs alot to keep on the road but costs nothing in depreciation. I paid £2000 for mine over a year ago and the market value for my car is still £2000. Not bad!
If its only happening when you go over bumps it could be something to do with your shocks. When the car is stationary rock the o/s front shock and see it its still making the noise. Could be something completely different but start off with the simple stuff. Maybe the wheel arch lining isnt in...
I had exactly the same problem, my mechanic who is a bit of a clio specialist said it happens all the time and he welded it. Have never had the problem since and this was about a year ago.
Mine did the same when I changed the temp sensor. Used to run at about a 1/4 on the temp gauge but now runs just below half with new sensor fitted. Really nothing to worry about so long as your fan kicks in .
Its easy enough to do it just takes alot of time. If you can get someone to help out you could have it done in an afternoon. You can get the original part from Renault for about £55.
