Dont know about the 1.4s but on mine there is a connection onto the gearbox, you can see it from above if you remove the battery. Its a green multiplug - try giving it a clean as it can get full of oil.

Im in Preston mate, Lancs. Checked the fuses under the bonnet and they are all fine. Ill have a look at the bulbs tomorrow but I cant see every single one blowing at once! Ill get the dash out and trace the wires, see if I can see a broken earth or something.

Try changing the potentiometer over. You should be able to get one from a breakers yard for £5-10. I think I paid £5 for mine and that sorted the problem. Or if you know someone with a valver see if you can borrow theirs; it only takes 2 mins to swop it over. I got mine from a 19 16v, always...

I had exactly the same problem, my mechanic who is a bit of a clio specialist said it happens all the time and he welded it. Have never had the problem since and this was about a year ago.

Mine did the same when I changed the temp sensor. Used to run at about a 1/4 on the temp gauge but now runs just below half with new sensor fitted. Really nothing to worry about so long as your fan kicks in .

Its easy enough to do it just takes alot of time. If you can get someone to help out you could have it done in an afternoon. You can get the original part from Renault for about £55.

Bloody Scousers. Park my car in Liverpool on Wednesday night, come back to it at 2am and lo and behold, someone has nicked one of my centre caps. They are the phase 2 16v alloys. Anyone know how much a replacement is from Renault? Ive phoned round the breakers yards but they just laugh at me!

To get the bump strips on the doors you need to get hold of the right clips. I ordered them from Renault they are about 50 pence each but you need about 26 of them. Dead easy to fit though.
