Yeh massive help cheers, With the cable disconnected it moves a lot which is where my noise is coming from its the metal fork catching on the spinning clutch.
Unfortunately I'm not in a position for it to be worth splitting the box as it's a second car, the wife does around 15 miles a week in...
Following on from my clutch issue on my Ph1 I have just released the clutch cable from the box end and the fork is just wobbling around like it's snapped off, I can move it in every direction.
Is it a box out job to replace? I was hoping not but I think I can guess the answer!
My Ph1 has today started making a horrific noise from the clutch / box area.
First thought was a release bearing or clutch itself however the noise is when you press the clutch in and it's a noisy metal on metal noise but not every time, occasionally judders pulling away again though not every...
Where is the best place to order the uprated rubber that sits in the original mount. There was some on ebay powerflex I think but can't find any now.

MOT tester should be able to tell, Maybe the cat is there and he thinks someone has removed its insides?
Anyhow my phase 1 is still on its origional cat but failed on emissions a couple of years ago and a new lambda (sp?) cured it :-)
