Need to sell my Ph1 172 it's out of test as the clutch has gone ( still drives but judders think it's release bearing)
98000 miles ish Cam belt done less than 2 years ago by ddc in Doncaster. Tidy other than rusty rear arches and age related marks. Eibach proline springs, Scorpion exhaust...
Yeh massive help cheers, With the cable disconnected it moves a lot which is where my noise is coming from its the metal fork catching on the spinning clutch.
Unfortunately I'm not in a position for it to be worth splitting the box as it's a second car, the wife does around 15 miles a week in...
Following on from my clutch issue on my Ph1 I have just released the clutch cable from the box end and the fork is just wobbling around like it's snapped off, I can move it in every direction.
Is it a box out job to replace? I was hoping not but I think I can guess the answer!
My Ph1 has today started making a horrific noise from the clutch / box area.
First thought was a release bearing or clutch itself however the noise is when you press the clutch in and it's a noisy metal on metal noise but not every time, occasionally judders pulling away again though not every...
Where is the best place to order the uprated rubber that sits in the original mount. There was some on ebay powerflex I think but can't find any now.
Sorry for not searching but I'm out and stuck on Slowband so it's easier to ask.here :-)
MOT tester should be able to tell, Maybe the cat is there and he thinks someone has removed its insides?
Anyhow my phase 1 is still on its origional cat but failed on emissions a couple of years ago and a new lambda (sp?) cured it :-)
From Jan you can take class 1 in an auto and drive manual as long as you have a manual class2 should make it a bit easier, Get it done easier to drive and generally easier work :-)
Yup that 100% describes mine too, Mine were fine when I got the car but look really grubby now. I dont smoke or have grubby hands either.
I still think its some sort of lacquer problem I know it has not cracked but seems to have melted gone soft with age? I think part of my dash has started to...
Those cheap £50 jobs off ebay get some decent comments over on Trucknet forums, I am still on a old TomTom car one from many years ago and with a little common sense its fine.
We have a W reg silver Ph1 , Pretty tidy and only 2 previous owners but as mentioned above with the bits that I have replaced and the fact the belts are being done shortly means I have spent more on it than the value of the car.
The wife is the boss though and the main driver and I don't think...
Not just me then! I dont rush about but jumping into a merc ocasionally makes me remember how bad the brakes are usually at the first roundabout.
Traction in the wet is not great either who does the Transport for Basingstoke is it in house?
I have a feeling they probably look better than they drive, Although the Mercs were not as bad as those auto DAFs. The hire Renaults were the best I reckon for no other reason than at that point I seemed to be getting Haydock all the time and that hammock style bed was proper comfy :)
I fitted a pattern mount last month its already knackered. Never thought about a powerflex one so im stealing that idea :) on my old Ph2 i found a bulky ford rubber in a parts bin and bonded that in did the trick fine.
