Well, the iCarsoft arrived today. I've just spent a couple of minutes on it, and it get the same erroneous value -81922.75°, so the search is on (joy!) for a new sensor. Thanks for the kind offer of assistance - I'm in Oxford unfortunately, so a bit of a trek, but thanks anwyay.

Fab. I've ordered an iCarsoft and should get it tomorrow so hopefully I can get a bit closer. I didn't want to buy a tool that could tell me the sensor was kaput but then have to get someone - or go to a dealer - with CLIP to reset it. iCarsoft sounds ideal.
