It may not be the quickest, but for me personally, it was the most fun. I got rid of mine mosty due to reliability issues, I did not see the mk2 172 and 182 as a significant step forward in terms of performance, neither the CTR, rather I looked for a car with lower milleage, similar performance...
I had 3 clios so far, besides my mk1 172...1.2 mk1 (ph2), 1.6 16V dynamique mk2 and another 1.2 mk1 ph3 (i think)
I loved them all...to be honest, I think the clio is (or at least was) best in the class. Good comfort, excellent economy, cheap to maintain, solid handling, early model were...
The back end can get a bit twitchy, if you're not careful, but other than that I found handling in the wet reasonably safe. Mine also behaved very well in the snow...
I have gone from mk1 172 to a '04 EP3.

Amen to that.
Mine handles like a dream in the snow, even on 3-year old 185/55 Michelin Alpines, just loves to go sideways with little or no drama, I don't even use the handbrake anymore.
Why put my car in a garage at this time of year, when it's the most fun, is really beyond me.
ok, maybe I was a bit to harsh, considering I haven't got the slightest idea what kind of person you are really, but IMO a mature driver doesn't concern himself with what cars could outrun him on his daily commute or a spirited drive, but rather enjoys his car for what it is
you drive a quick...
I'am not sure if this is related, but I get a strong knocking noise coming somewhere from front suspension, when I accelerate hard in 1th or 2th gear. It also occurs when I accelerate up hill or when accelerating with the fully loaded car (two or more passangers). If I load the power...
