    Nova 1.3 SR

Hi peeps, I havent been on for a while, but couldnt leave this one without a reply. Im glad to see some pretty sensible discussion here in the whole. Ive had many cars in my time, and by far my favourite was a 1.4 SR Nova. I tuned it very heavily for very little money, and soon realised...

    2002 1.2 16v MPG Readings

I used to regularly average 40-45 in mine, but could reduce that drastically if I was really going for it cross country. The V6 4-mtn averages about 26-30mpg, but drops below 7mpg when you really hammer it (real time).

    Huge backfire

The key thing is you said that it started bogging down, and revs dropping. When running nitrous, the lower the rpm, the more nitrous goes in per cycle increasing torque and compression. Combine this with an engine under load (enduced by rollers) and the pressure would be far too great...

    DIY Nitrous

So what size fuel jet did you use then? Have you been on the rollers to find out how well the kit is working on your car? How lean/rich are you running? MC

Clio King, So youve built your own kit too, how did you get on, were there any snags? How did you get on with running it up and testing? Id be interested to have a chat. Weve found loadsa ways to save even more money. What psi did your fuel supply run at? MC

Simon, Yep, I agree, and every kit will have to be made individually suited to that car. The benefit I have with the 1.2 16v Clio is the size of the air plenum. There is so much volume I can run a nozzle in without disturbing flow. With most other injected cars, a nozzle can sit in the...

    DIY Nitrous

We really havent given a lot of thought to how much well charge for a kit. probably between £250 and £300. The kits can be fitted for you, not sure on labour yet, or youd be able to fit them yourself with instructions, but we would have to set them up. As we cant test on every car due to...

    DIY Nitrous

Yep, weve thought long and hard about the nozzle. The nitrous is going to be injected into/along a shortish piece of copper pipe about 10mm in diameter. slightly further along the fuel will be sprayed in a fan shape into the flow of nitrous so that it will atomise. Hopefully this should work...

    induction kit or replacement filter

I see your argument. I have spent many an hour playing with choke sizes and trumpet length to get the best compromise between torque and bhp on Novas. This is why when I think about altering a component, I really do just that, think about it. The first thing I did is try running without any...

    induction kit or replacement filter

Captain, The diameter of that intake pipe must seriously only be about 1", almost half that of the throttle. There is a large boxy plenum before you reach the throttle. Once removing the standard filter, I can fit my hand and arm into this plenum and touch the throttle. This design is...

    DIY Nitrous

Thought I’d update you all on my N2O project. Several weeks ago, I was quite bored and whilst day-dreaming, decided to fit Nitrous to the Clio. The only problem was that I couldn’t afford it, so I started thinking about how to save money. I’ve fitted a HighPower kit before, so I know what the...

    induction kit or replacement filter

Get the Cone filter. All trust me when I say it works on this engine. Its very different to all other Clio engines. Ive stripped the entire inlet system down from inner wing to the head, so I know it well. The standard airbox and 1" diameter inlet tract are the most restrictive part of the...

    type r or 172

I have to agree with the previous comment about the Leon Cupra R! The wife and I test drove one last week, and although slightly slower than the competition, you get so much refinement and comfort. The build quality is fantastic, just as good as the Golf it is based on. It has 210bhp, 199...
