hi, i need my rear brake pads changed but i'm unsure how to get the drum off to get into them. i've been quoted £50 for parts and labour from a garage but i can get the pads for £21 off ebay. i'd rather do it myself and save money but would it be worth just paying the £50?? if anyone has done...

actually, cutting most of the tyre off was probly the best thing to do! gave me better access to the radial without worrying about grinding into the rim :) one down, 3 to go

Cool, I'll do that tomorrow. Got pissed off and cut most of the tyre off 2 of the wheels but the radials are still on each side with a couple of inches of rubber lol. Probly not the smartest move but it got my aggression out :)

Haha that would be fun alex! Unfortunately I don't have the escort they came off anymore so I can't :( I don't need the tyres, they are cracked, so just grind through the radial? Will the rubber not burn?

Hi, I'm trying to refurb my alloys but can't get the tyres off. Does anyone know a way to get the tyre off the rim?

no, took the clips off, one side just slipped off, the other side was more stubborn because it was bent. i thought they were pins that would just pop through but they look more like studs that are welded to the panel. its done now though :)
