Noel, I did what you said and just pushed all the connectors back together and the light has gone off...but Im wondering if this is a good enough fix, or whether it still should go in to Renault for them to check it. Where I live the garage isnt that nearby, so I hate having to go there...

You know I had mine done last week Paul. Did you get the info I sent you listing the parts, part numbers and costs? Was it any use? I guess this problem has affected a lot of cars, but Renault didnt recall it as its just a noise - thats the excuse they gave me!! Stace

This was the problem. Renault has agreed to pay for 80% of the work, so I suppose thats pretty good! Just want my car back now, fault free (fingers crossed). Thanks for all your help guys. Stace

On the face of it, this sounds like exactly the same problem. Can you tell me where I can get this tech note. Would be good to get it tomorrow and maybe itll help speed things up at the garage. I appreciate any help you can give me with this. Cheers Stace

Yep, it was serviced by the main dealer (where it has gone now for repair) at 12,000miles. They actually told me it should be serviced at 18k, but I wanted it done at 12k. They are currently still trying to find out what the problem is, doing exploratory work in the engine. Hopefully Renault...
