a Mitsubishi delica vent is probably 30 cm by 17 something like that on the bonnet ill use aerosols so like normal couple of coats of primer scuff lightly then couple of coats of paint ?

I'm going to paint a vent on my 4x4, whats the best way to prep and paint plastic. like should i use a plastic primer and plastic paint or will plastic primer and normal paint be ok ? cheers
