correct to paint plastic ?

Car  clio mk2 ph1
I'm going to paint a vent on my 4x4, whats the best way to prep and paint plastic. like should i use a plastic primer and plastic paint or will plastic primer and normal paint be ok ?

cheers

a Mitsubishi delica vent is probably 30 cm by 17 something like that on the bonnet

ill use aerosols

so like normal couple of coats of primer scuff lightly then couple of coats of paint ?

yeah, rub the vent first to make a key for the plastic primer, then couple of coats of primer and use wet and dry to a nice even finish before painting it in whatever colour your doing it in then let that dry for a day or so and then laquer to give a nice shiny finish.

GREY scotchbrite +with warm soapy water. apply plastic primer. flat it with a 500 something like that maybe even a 800 scuffpad, apply thin top coats and clear if your using it. sit back and admire your work ( providing it went well )
