@McDriftin I completely agree, I've only ever done it just prior to taking it for an MOT then cut them off after. I think there are a few guys on here who run like this all the time though, personally I'd leave it as per factory spec, its just difficult to get an MOT with the factory spec!
The cups valve didn't have the link found on the standard 172 and 182. The cable ties are as @masekwm says generally used to get a CUP through an MOT as when the arm is held up maximum braking effort is given.
If you cut the cable ties you'll have a "as it left the factory" set up but be warned...
I was on my back under my cup that's been off the road sine 2012 yesterday... I got the compensator moving pretty freely after a few wiggles and plenty of fluid bleeding through so hopefully it will just be the usual "the brakes are meant to be like that, look at this VOSA document!"...
Looks great, what spacing are you using?
I'm with you on the Skoda splitters, need to see them as a disposable item! My first genuine one was cracked when I bought the car, that lasted a few months until I hit a bit of debris on a dual carriageway, replaced it with a mint second hand one... 2...
I've ended up taking mine to a Renault garage before, passed fine after being failed elsewhere.
I've contacted VOSA for guidance before got an auto email confirming they'd received my email then another a few weeks later saying they would look into it then silence! I think I was getting about...
Got to love how these small jobs turn into mammoth tasks! Every bolt i seem to touch on mine either spins or crumbles...
Car looks fantastic though, love RB. Hope you manage to get the bolts out ok!
