Done some things. Some crucial, some very much not.

Sold the 182 a like exhaust and lucked upon a PMS one

(Pic from the ad, can't be bothered opening the garage for one) the one issue is that it's for a 182 manifold. So now I need one of them too!

Since it needs that this happened.

And this is for sale

I've fitted the wishbones and a braided brake line. Needing a new hard line for the front driverside.

Ditched the HPAS as it was leaking at a rubber to metal join on the high pressure side. We'll see if I end up going epas or just get built.

As @Djw Dave reminded me the other day, I got this as a fully working car. Now it's a big f**king jigsaw and I've not even driven it.

I am not a smart man.

Gone for full manual rack for the moment, will see how it feels. Need to do something about the PAS pump though before start up.

Got purple arb and wishbone bushes fitted.

Subframe is back on and the exhaust is in place too. Not secured but there.

Same old story, weeks of inactivity followed by an evening of bursting it.

Hi @tomsteer, you've been busy 😂

Bit more done today after getting motivated last night by going and watching @Djw Dave on track.

So exhaust is fully done, dodgy coil pack swapped, studs fitted.

Next is brake bleeding and ordering some bits. Very close to driveable again now.

Was at the scrappies today getting some bits for the Saab when Dave reminded me (via text) to look for a cup alt setup off a Volvo or older Laguna. Couldn't find any but then stumbled across this.

So once I got home, went back out again to buy skirting, home again the Monaco looked like this.

Then, in the spirit of happy wife = happy life I cut all the skirting ready for painting and went back to the garage quietly and now got this

Delighted. If the the alt works then it was a bargain. If it doesn't then I've still got the bits that are getting harder to get. So I'm very happy.

Chucked onto a cuvva policy for a hour earlier to take it a quick run seeing as how I've not driven it yet. Left my phone in the Leon though as it fell out my pocket 😂 so no pics.

Overall happy, steering is heavy, it only broke down once and it took 4 seconds to fix so I'll take that.

Fitted the new brakes from @George@roadtrackraceparts before heading out

Calipers are honking but working so that's what concerns me most. Function > form

Not much else has happened this weekend but the kids were scooting around the front garden whilst I pottered.

Quick wash as it was minging from being in the garage for 2 months.

(Leon was worse, about 4K worth of bugs!)

Then did some destickering and restickering
