no mine doesn't limit it to 3K but it revs very slowly and obviously barely any power. what sensor is wobbly?

yeah i was wondering whether the lambda sensor's gone, this will make sense because then the ECU will r****d or advance the timing of the spark thus putting more pressure on the coil pack. that is only a stab in the dark though! and there are many other reasons that could cause this. Dave...

i forgot to mention that the coil pack and emissions signals have been illuminated on the instrument panel.
