So picked the car up today wallet feeling light but glad to have it back again. Going to take it easy for a few hundred miles and pop back in for a check over but hopefully all be good.

1 year of ownership yesterday that's really flew by. Keep thinking to sell up and get a Mégane but then I look at it and tell myself to enjoy it for the summer at least. The car has done 1.5k miles since the rebuild now and has been going strong so credit to Beaniesport for doing a fantastic job. The car is crying out for a proper clean as all it's had since early December is a jet wash.

Gave the car a good wash finally as it had been 5 months since it had a proper clean I decided to get bilt hamber fallout remover and car pro tar and glue remover on it. Silver is a funny colour as it can look clean even when it's kind of dirty but you really see the difference when it's given a deep clean. I then dried it using Sonax BSD and Infinity wax rapid detailer mixed which is a go to product for me now. It's incredibly easy to apply, lasts ages beads well and adds a good gloss.

Sadly the fun ends there because after chucking a few parts chasing a bearing type noise it seems my gearbox is on its way out. Not really what I wanted considering what the car needed early on in the year. The joys of owning an old Renault I guess so looks like I'll be footing another big bill for it.

Bit of an update on this since the last one it's pretty much had a full front end refresh. 2 driveshafts, bearings, ball joints, gearbox rebuilt by northloopcup, new front shocks and fitted some solid top mounts and powerflex dog bone. Feels really on point and direct now.

Dodged a bullet the other day after a bolt for the front cover came loose and found itself snagged in the aux belt. Sounded awful and I think I narrowly avoided disaster. Once the bolt had fell out it sounded okay but had it collected to be inspected.

Everything looked okay and visually the aux belt seemed fine but to err on the side of caution I decided to get a full aux kit fitted. Turned out there was a split in it which could have been bad news so I'm glad I decided to just replace.
