Phase 2? I never understand this mentality. Follow a page on FB with cars lying abandoned and i’m surprised near daily what people leave lying exposed to nature thats actually worth decent money😵💫
Yeah Ph2. Half tempted to make an offer although I suspect they're one of those people that will wait until it's worth a fortune even in a complete state.

Worth asking but agree owner prob thinks its worth as much as a well loved one.
There used to be a r26r on a sidestreet near me in a decent area, black with faded graphics under 40k. Never seen it move for a couple of years until it went for good one day.
I done some digging and the owner knew exactly what it was but didnt care about storing it or cleaning. Turned out he had a few quid so was a pocket money car for him sadly.

I know exactly which one you mean, the most pictured xr2 in the lakes. Somebody persuaded them to sell it and it actually moved without folding from memoryDoesa he own the mk1 Xr2 as well

The owner came across the note I left and got in contact with me on Saturday.

Here are a few more photos I took after leaving the note:
- He’s owned the car since 2012 and said at some point it’s had a mechanical overhaul (he said 2001, probably meant to say 2021. I didn’t query it as I didn’t have the time).
- I think he said that it’s been left to sit as the engine has blown/has a problem. He is going to be sending it off to AW motorworks for a forged engine build which he says is going to cost him £5k.
- He says he wasn’t looking to sell but would be open to the idea and is up for a conversation about potentially doing so. However, he may not want to when he gets it back.
- I think he said he’d be looking to sell it to someone who had longer term ownership prospects (can’t fully remember if he said this or not). He is also aware of their rarity.
- He has the original seats
- He also owns a white Meg 3 RS

I know nothing else about it apart from a lad i know seen it and approached them asking if they would sell. Might not even be there anymore.
