Looking forward to this. I’m hoping for some 90s F1 cars. I only have a console so no mods available.

Yep can’t wait for this. It seems they’re planning on allowing third party official DLC from the likes of RSS/VRC etc., although I don’t know whether it’ll be openly moddable. Also apparently they’ve been consulting with Ilja and Peter Boese who have made AC1 the beast it is today.

It does look great though and a good mix of road cars and race cars like last time. I’m hopeful.

Got to admit - as much as I like ACC, I do feel that it's clearly a restrictive choice of cars and arguably limited appeal. This should expand those options nicely. :)

That said, the driving within ACC, I cannot fault. So tricky to get right, but when you know you've taken a corner really well or shifted a sequence of gears spot on and you end up shaving a tenth or two off your lap time.... I don't think I've yet played a racing game that comes close.

I just hope like the original AC, that they bring back my beloved Mazda 787B.

First play footage etc is out as well as some more info. I'll just add this video for now but I did watch a stream earlier that was more in depth.

Seems like it's AC but with the physics improvements from ACC, as well as free roaming, weather etc etc.

Looks like modding will be a thing, just not straight from the start as they want to get the game stable and developed first.
Here, Kunos is aiming to try and bridge the gap between the community and the legalities.

“The ultimate goal is to create a platform where the modders can also work with cars and track licensors because we want to make them eligible to work with car manufacturers.”

“We guess that today we may have the right conditions for modders to cooperate with cars and track licensors in the right way; also, respecting the intellectual properties of real manufacturers. We [also] don’t like to see content grabbed from other games.”

“We want to give visibility to the talented modders and artists that create amazing content – both in real life and fictional – where the only limit will be the creativity, working on a platform that can give them all the credit they deserve and the chance to work directly with the car manufacturer.”

“[We hope] it can make the modding community grow in the right way.”
Yes to RSS/VRC/URD etc, no to shitty forza rips with the same cut and paste physics.... win win win win win
