Cambelt advice needed

Hi,

First post here so not sure if it's in the right place... I recently bought a Megane GT 2.0 TCE and I want to get it's cambelt changed for peace of mind, main dealer has quoted me £1800 which seems steep, so I was wondering if anyone knows any Renault specialists in the north west that will be able to do the job hopefully a little bit cheaper? I live near Liverpool but happy to travel around!

You will probably still be looking at over a grand for a specialist, personally I would avoid a main dealer they are soo expensive and often don't have the knowledge you would expect. Im down south and use a good place, you could probably have a trip to London and stay in a hotel with the savings you would make going to AW motorworks.

Another trustworthy person to use is Mick at Diamond Motors near Nottingham.

Take it to @Birchdown and see Andy and Steve in Malpas.

Or Nightingales Garage in Blackburn, i think @Darren S has had work done there.

Yep - had mine done over at Nightingales the other week. Also had it done at Birchdown in the past.

Both very reputable and know their stuff - so down to convenience really. Birchdown is just over 60 miles one-way for me, but has some great roads down Cheshire way. Nightingales are about a 10-15minute drive from my place of work - effectively around the corner in terms of a specialist!

Well worth it. While you're there stop by at the old fire station cafe, good breakfast and lunch!
