Rear BC set up

I Recently fitted brand new bc coilovers to the rear of my 182 and have spoken to BC about how to adjust/set them up properly. This is what Jasper said from BC racing, has anyone else also done the same when fitting there BC coilovers?

"When setting the preload on a separate spring and damper for example on the rear you not only need to adjust the spring perch but the damper length also. This is done by first setting the rear ride height using the spring perch and adjusters, once this is set you can then add a little extra spring preload by using a jack to jack up the rear arm where the spring sits, we recommend roughly 5-7mm. Then leaving the jack in position you then need to thread the damper either in or out of it's bottom mount so the bolt holes line up and it bolts through with ease. This should mean your rear spring is now preloaded correctly and when on full droop there is no movement of the spring in between its mounts"

Yes, this is to ensure the springs don't get dislodged on full droop. Bolt the dampers from the top, but leave the bottom bolts to begin with. Then fit the springs with beam fully lowered, then jack the beam up just enough so that the springs are firmly embedded inside the beam with no movement possible.

Then adjust the dampers so that the bolt holes line up with the hub, and bolt them on. Don't forget to tighten the collar afterwards.

The only discrepancy vs the above description is my BCs came with with spacers for the springs, not threaded adjusters like the Bilstein B14. I'm running the 5mm spacer.

This is what mine looks like on full droop:

If you wind the damper in then you can achieve a lower ride height, although I can't imagine needing to go lower than what the BC springs can offer. Even with the 5mm spacer I wouldn't go any lower for the road.

Yeah this.

Mines not even that low and it’s a bit of a problem on the road tbh.

Yep i know the spring is main thing for height,i just thought the adjustment on the damper was to fine tune the height. All good tho as i know how to set them up properly and are clios not best suited with a rack in level?.
