Rallying, touring cars etc etc where all great to go watch.
I'm sure I went to the watch a BTCC night race at Silverstone back then. Never did go to the F1 because we were poor, but did do loads of other stuff. This was the pinnacle era of motorsport for me. Absolutely epic.
I passed in 92 too and a year later my mum siad I couldn't have a GT Turbo. My dad came with me when I bought it 😆. The turbo tin cans on the era were amazing, I wish modern hot hatches had some turbo lag to play with.I passed in 92, the 90's were epic for more than use the cars.
mine was a late 80's car but I have a 5GT Turbo at the age of 21

Good watch this, and so true,
If this was your era?
Some great memories and so much better cars than the dull souless electric shite everyone will be driving very soon 😴
I remember driving along an A road, doing about 70mph. My mate next to me so close we were passing cigarettes and lighters to eachother. 😂Passed in 91, had a couple of normal fiestas then ended up going down the bike route as it was a cheap route to speed, always feel i missed out a bit, defo think the 90s was one of the best era's for interesting cars.
i will sound like an old t**t now, but the roads were so much different in the 90's you could enjoy driving, you could take the piss a bit when conditions allowed, a lot more enjoyable than now.
Different times mate, sounds weird but u know what i am talking about.I remember driving along an A road, doing about 70mph. My mate next to me so close we were passing cigarettes and lighters to eachother. 😂
Used to go out for a drive at about 9.30pm most nights as the roads were absolutely dead.
Sadly I was poor and had s**t cars. Would have been amazing if I had something that was good to drive, too. 😂
Touring cars with Cavalier GSI’s, Mondeo’s, Lagunas, Lolvo’s…. Just 👌🏽
XR3i’s and Cavalier SRi’s littered the streets. Good times.

Also for anyone who may remember these too
Passed in 1987 - I7 and out in Sierra Cosworth’s / 911’s and most other things you can remember back then -
Crazy times the late 80’s to early 90’s - however the one thing that sticks in my head was you couldn’t half get around the country in quick time and fuel was cheap 🤣🤣🤣
The first hot hatch I ever drove was a Fiesta RS Turbo. It had been chipped and had a couple of other bits and felt like a rocket at the time, as well as sounding really good. They get a bit of stick for not handling well, but I think they're still super desirable. A proper little tearaway of a car.
My brother had a GTE 16v Astra and was pretty much the fasted car in our small town then a chap I went to school got a Red Fiesta RST after a string of XR2's.
It was mint.
He had chipped aswell I think you could get 165bhp Stage 1 & 195bhp Stage 2. The latter probably gave better bhp/tonne than a std cossie if you could control the torque steer.
Had this weird disc behind the 3 spoke wheel that made them look like had big brakes even as std.
looked a decent day out that until I saw the bit saying 'featuring the Jaguars enthusiast club'Could be a good day out.
I remember some three door Cossies being £7k in the 90's!You didn’t need to be a millionaire in 1987 to own one as they cost around 14k - but we did have a large fleet of cars due to being in the Motor-trade to experience -
a friends mum had one as her daily runabout (she was a proper milf). This would have been in the late 80's.I remember some three door Cossies being £7k in the 90's!
Not sure if anyone else owned one back in the day?
I did bought it in 1995 from the RS technician at TC Harrison Ford in Derby, sold it in 2002 (regreted it ever since) would be a dream to find it again and do what this lad has.
Mine was mercury grey but the silver was super rare to see even in the 90s (only ever made 52 in silver) the last off the line before they stopped making them.
Remember seeing this actual car back then at an RS Show.
Amazing story on the 2 cars😍
That's cool, but sad that it got nicked!a friends mum had one as her daily runabout (she was a proper milf). This would have been in the late 80's.
She got it as part of a divorce settlement. They had money but weren't mega rich, she just saw it as a bit of a sporty car.
And yes in the end it got stolen and was never seen again.
