What Car after a 182?

This is what im thinking of doing, much difference between the megs 250/265 etc apart from looks wise?

Not really imo. The interior on the 265 is updated a bit. I prefer the look of the facelift, but the xenon directional lights on the 250. Certain options are well worth having with cup pack being the sought after one. They are like a grown up clio with the extra power I always wanted. This is especially noticeable on track days. Consumables are pretty reasonable in line with running a Clio. My current one.....

E92 are a nice price. Just budget for items as they are getting on a bit.

With the exhaust mod they sound amazing

Options..

Meg 250/265
Bmw Z4 Coupe
Golf Gti Mk6/7
Clio 200
Bmw M3 E46/92 (bit of a dream probs)
Audi TT tfsi
Bmw 3 series M Sport touring
Interesting your list includes the Z4 Coupe. Back in 2007 I chopped in my immaculate and fantastic 18month old RB 182 Cup for a Z4C 3.0 - in an effort to explore some more ‘grown up’ motoring. The fact that now, nearly 20 years later, I’m back in hot Clio’s I think speaks for itself as to how that experiment played out… 😂

I've got a 275cup, they are decent enough but still rattly, cheap made and suspension is firm, doesn't bother me but it's something you may not like

If you want something of a similar nature but a bit more modern, I'd be looking at a Megane 250/265/275, or a MK7 Fiesta ST. Both a bit less frantic, but better every day cars while still being a lot of fun.

But then I’d just be back in an S3 🤷‍♂️

Which would be a way better car! 🤣

I still lol at the 60k price tag on that 5N! mental money imo.

I know it'll leased pcp etc but someone somewhere still taking that loss.

I reckon 3 years old theywill be worth well under 25k easy.

Would like an Ep3 but all rust buckets from what i have read up on.

I went from EP3 to 172 Cup to DC5. I'd say that's also my preference in ascending order. DC5 PAS is incomparable to an EP3 EPAS setup, owing to it being hydraulic. Driving position is also incredible in the 5, where as you sit on top of an EP3.

DC5's are rusting away now sadly, but they are more likely to have been garaged during their lifetime. I wouldn't recommend one as a daily.

Mine is through the company work scheme so saving 40%.
It’s genuinely more cost effective for me to have the 5N than the S3 was and that’s not including fuel/charging offset (free charging at work).

All maintenance, tax, insurance, breakdown cover is covered too so it’s a no brainier for me.

The S3 all in burned through £30k in 2 years covering only 10k miles 😖
Plus it’s slow as f**k compared the the 5N 🤣

Think i need to add a V6  There's been a lot more but an example of each variant. all have had pros and cons, MK2s are simple and relatively cheap to maintain, MK3s are not. Excluding that reason im not sure id ever choose a MK2 RS over a MK3 RS! - MK4 was for me the best out of the Clio RS, but i get its different and not to everyone's taste! - Megane feels just like a heavily revised MK4 RS better in every way except doesn't sound as nice!!
