I think the bright red Makita stuff was originally Maktec which was a Makita spin out for cheaper stuff made in China, then a while back they dropped it and went back to it being Makita. So its likely shite.

I've got the red Makita belt sander and for the money it's pretty decent, they're basically the same as the blue tools but with less powerful motors, also come in green too.

Growing up all I saw was Makita, my dad and grandad always went straight for their stuff

My dad's still got his very first grinder from back when he was a teenager, it was made in the 70s or 80s. Back when they made tools to last

But yes their old stuff was amazing, my dad has an 80's angle grinder and its seen some serious action over the years, still quieter than all the new s**t. Have some 80's Wolf tools somewhere which seem brilliant compared to lots of stuff today.

Got this as I don't think the tiny mains powered scarifier I've got is going to work for the new lawn. My son loves it, helped put it together and fill it up with oil. My wife wasn't too impressed with us using the kitchen as a garage though 😂

Makita was the best going back to the late 90's early/2000's when i first started on the building sites. Elu/dewalt was then the nex excellent gear to buy until the brand basically turned into yellow sack and pecker.

Ill be needing to cut a rear qtr off a car soon. Milwaukee m18 recip man enough for it? Save f**k loads of angle grinder action.

i chiselled a floor pan out of a car years ago, but need a bit more finesse /speed on this.

I generally use hand tools to save pissing about setting up power tools. Honestly when i was a joiner many years ago, all we had was hand tools and a cordless drill. Shared a hilti sds between us and nobody could be fucked lugging the transformer about to power it.

Arguably the quality of workmanship was acutally better too. See 10k's worth of power tools and shite fast fit these days.

I’ve cut up 3 Clio shells and It cuts through it no bother, even the triple plated sections won’t slow it down.

I used a Diablo blade last time and did the whole shell with one blade, the thin ones like to bend.

Agreed. Stilly life is about revving it like f**k with minimal cutting or letting it idle basically to annoy everybody.

The only noise that annoys everybody more than stilly is multi tool
