Open car trailer

Car  172 Cup
All being well will be buying an open car trailer in the next few months. Looking at a Brian james A transporter as it seems to be the obvious choice. Can anyone recommend any other brands? Woodford keep coming up which is almost half the price of the Brian James just haven’t ever heard of the brand or know anyone who has one.
 
Woodford WBT040 and above. I've got a WBT-131, tows really nice and has a few nice bits like a winch and a tyre rack

Just make sure you get a double axle, they tow way nicer

Will definitely be a double axle and yes to tow my Clio. Did look at the CT136HD, big fan of ifor trailers. My plant trailer got hit side on by some w**ker in a tractor at 30-40 miles a hour. Bent the wheel arch a little but completely ruined the tractor

Been looking at the wbt101, comes with a tilt bed and ramps for £3400 plus VAT. Think the ifor is similar money just need to work out if you can load low cars onto it. Partly the reason I was looking for a tilt bed.
 
That’s the one I’ve been looking at, tilt bed with a winch. Just want to see if the weight can be upped to 2.6-2.7 gross so I can tow larger vehicles with it if needed.
 
Iv got an ifor CT136HD, keep looking at changing to brian james but I think alot of them are for show and is ofte some snobbery in the paddock towards the agricultural ifor williams
Only downside to them is noisy if your ever travelling empty long distance due to the leaf springs.
Little to go wrong on them and very stable. 500kg empty and no wood to go wrong. Seem to pick them up for around £2k - £3k used.

As shown in the pic above do like ifor williams trailer, built strong. My plant trailer makes a bloody racket when its empty. Fine when the chipper is on. I also like shiney new, will buy through the company get the VAT back. Can use it for moving my loader around.
 
Prg trailers are decent and reasonably priced. I had one for my 182 and 197/200

Things to consider
- wrap round or over wheel trailers and straps. Over wheel are much easier and faster but require a punched deck or a s**t load of drilling the trailer as I know from experience
- double axle definitely the way to go
- tilt is handy but not essential

Alternatively Brian James or ifor williams trailer

I think the guy who started Woodford was one of the original guys who started Brian James and split when they fell out.

Woodford are a decent trailer, my mate tows his 328 with one he had specially built and loves it
 
Had a CT136HD for 10 years now, covered a lot of miles and had no issues at all. I've replaced the brake shoes once and had a couple of sets of tyres.

They have a lower bed than other brands which helps with lower stuff, but I still swapped to longer ramps as the standard 1.8m are a bit short really.

Im on the limit of the bed with the width of the car now, but it works and can't justify a bigger trailer, which in turn means a bigger tow car...

At the end of the day the trailer size/spec choice still comes down to whatever car you plan on towing it with...
