Yes I agree as I did Epynt a good few years ago. This was after loads of sprints and single venue stuff. It was hard work though as had to service and do everything as my dad who co drove was no good with spanner’s.

The closed road rallies look far far better then the circuit based stuff, do they cost a lot more to do ?

Single venue as have 3 sisters not far away or a step up to Oulton park when funds allow. I’ll have to get out on a targa rally but my Mini is not allowed as it’s forced induction. Still looking for an MX5 locally but all have serious rust issues on front chassis legs and cills.

@Twingo 1?? yes I’ve seen loads of track,race ready cars most of which have back seats and carpets out to make them race ready the better ? one with joe blogs cages that are either home made or out of date and unusable.

Thats getting very expensive! The best bet seems to be building your own car if your good with spanner’s etc but then comes the trailer hire or buy , tow car which if you buy one as your everyday transport is a massive compromise day today. I can see the advantages both ways. Which ever way I go...

£1000 to hire car plus fuel plus compulsory insurance £3-400 but has £2k excess. Also pay for damage etc not sure if that covers blown engines or gear boxes though.

I dunno Paul but £300 for 50 miles beats 6 miles at Harewood hill climb weekend. I know it will cost lots more in fuel tyres damage etc and no I don’t have deep pockets as looking at standard mk2 mx5 or just add safety gear to my mini.

Depends where you live and at the moment there is no spectators allowed at any event. Hopefully this will change soon but something to be aware of in case you just turn up only to be turned away.

I have a similar issue although mines a 2009 MBP 😆 think I’ve had my money’s worth though. I have no idea what to get.

I always used them in the past for my sprint cars and obviously cover mods but cant remember if its like for like though.

They seem to get good all round reviews so probably go with them or maybe AD08RS but I am sure a few have said they were not that impressed by them

I need some tyres for the MINI and fancy MPS4 as a road tyre and can be used as winter/wet track tyre ? Are they any good or would you recommend something else ? I presume Rainsports are good in the wet or cold but what are they like on a winter track if its dry ? Cheers
