Will be fitting the new sensor this afternoon and will see how it goes. I have a different starter motor to fit on the weekend as mine is a bit noisy after all the cranking!
I fitted a genuine new tdc sensor and loom yesterday and still no better. I will fit a new coolant sensor tomo to see if that's helps. Intermittent issues are such a pain to fix!!
Weird how the battery can effect it. What I dont understand is why any of these would cause the ecu to see no crank position. My battery seems to be fine, it's only a few years old and holds charge well.
Having issues with my cup, drives fine on the road but once you turn the engine off it won't always start. Cranks fine but no spark or fuel. Had the RAC run diagnostics and ecu is reading no crank position. Crank position sensor has been changed for a genuine item. Any other ideas????
So drove home from work this evening In my 172 cup circa 70 miles. Stopped to get some food and when starting the car it fired but swiftly stalled - may have stopped the starter motor too soon. When I tried to restart all I got was cranking. Unsure if I had fuel or spark but certainly not both...
I had what sounds like the same problem on my 182 trophy, as the car was under warrenty the dealers sorted this out. They replaced one of the front ball joint and it stopped the problem. I would check for play in the joint.
Yeh we did, my Girlfriend really wants some cup alloys as she prefers them so were not to bothered. Only one of the alloys is really bad so were goona stick the spare on which is mint.
