When attempting to start it I tried a few throttle positions and it made no difference what so ever. So either no fuel is getting...
This is actually for my moms cars, Clio II 1998 1.2 (1149cc) 8v
A few months ago the car would sometime start no problem, and other times it splutter a bit and my mom says she had to rock the car backwards and forwards and it would then start... no idea... maybe a fuel issue?

I haven't got the paperwork on me to double check and I'm looking online for an alternator, and some ebay ads state 8v some state 16v.
*edit - just looked online 8v = 1998 -2012, 16v 2001-2012. As it's 1998 it must be 8v.

Hopefully a quick question; I need to track down an alternator down for a MK2 1998 S Reg 1.2 (1149cc), it's just going to be a scrap yard jobby. Do the other sized engines use the same alternator, or do I need a 1.2 one specifically?
