lol, this is a clio forum and hardly anyone knew that ph1/2 had 80bhp and the ph3's had 75. and who ever it was that the said RT's are unreliable was wrong. the energy lump is very reliable.
I almost puked when i saw the mk2 172. they just look discusting. as for the best looking clio id agree, its gotta be the mk1 v6. but if we're talking about mk1 valver/willy, mk1 172's and mk2 172/182, its gotta be the valver and willy any day of the year.
the original post was asking what...
lol, ^^^^ and your obviously someone thats taken offence. who cares about how its worded, its all good for a discusion.
and the end of the day the mk1 was way better in its time then the mk2 is today. really cant understand how anyone could prefer the looks of a mk2 over the mk1, anyone with...
lol, matching the ports to the manifolds should make a little difference dont you think? he actually said by looking at my head that the casting was a bit cack, lol.
yeah, well he said, by gasflowing it he would be porting it very very slightly anyhow. so im guessing he just means hes going to neaten all the cast seems up etc.
lol, thought chris would have done a good job for £150ish.
Im a bit weary of this bloke tho because of whats been said here and by chris on rsc. but basically I went down their at 5 and spoke to him properly and asked him exactly what hes going to do, I told him not to bother with the...
yea, ok chris, ill get him to leave it then but clean the casting up etc. and polish it.
loony, hes no cheaper than anywhere else, its the posting and having to have it taken off and on again thats the problem, would probably cost about 400-500 quid all over again after the HG.
smokey, i...
well, like i say, i havent got enough money at the moment. im not gonna be doing that, and the heads already off at the moment for the head gasket, im not leaving the car there for a couple of weeks and sourse a new head for him either.
the whole reason hes doing the headwork for me at the...

sorry to sound a bit stupid but is this "porting" or "gas flowing" where they make the inlet manifold all nice, smooth and shiney?and how much does it cost to do it properly?
£100-£200, it varyies from place to place
lol, im not gonna have the money to do that anytime soon, for a start i live in cornwall. as it is im borowing the money off my mum for the HG to be done. can anyone tell me if theres a particular figure tho? an actually amount to take off the ports?
dave, yup, thats why i want it done...
ill just leave him gasflow it then, lol. he seems a bit busy tho, i think maybe he just cant be arsed to port it aswell. he said there wasnt much point unless he was gonna put bigger valves in aswell for some reason. hes basically gonna gasflow and polish the head at the same time as doing the...
im about to have my energy lump from my RT gasflowed. I want to have it ported but the bloke whos doing it said he wants an exact measurement of how much to take off. can anyone tell me this measurement? help greatly apreciated. Mark
thats just silly saying that tho, thats just gonna f**k it up. personally i wouldnt take it much over 3000rpm for the first 500 miles then id gradually take it higher and higher, and by the time you get to 1000 miles you should be able to safely take it right up to max revs. but you cant just...
