ecu/chip test

carried on from the other thread, we want to test exchange ecus and chip software upgrades,

so far BBPT and superchips are willing to put their units up for test on cars with only exhaust and filter mods. anyone else up for this? im gonna try to get in touch with r sport and maybe fastchip?

we also need 3 or 4 cars with basic exhaust and filter mods, mines available and evogone seems keen, anyone else help?

location we need a rolling road, prefer cambs/bucks area (superchips request). also superchips have said they may be able to make their rollers available, does everyone think this would be fair?? or should we go somewhere neutral??

im sure all help would be very much appreciated

I am after an ECU, BBs sounds good, went out in jphs car earlier and it seems to be quicker than mine, easily.

Only other place I have considered is HillPower, an SMT6 (or whatever its called) from GDI or elsewhere is too expensive for me.

So yes, put me down, I wanna know which chip is best! And what better way to prove it than this!

Oh and I have a silenced de-cat and an ITG Maxogen, but with the standard Renault exhaust, is that alright..?

ill provide a car as im looking into getting a chip. mine has k tec stainless exhaust and de cat. also a bmc induction kit

it aint a case of picking mate, i just wanna get some people together who are considering this kind of mod, and want to know for definate which one is the best value for money/best upgrade ect..

i am willing to speak to the relivant people but i think it would have to be a joint effort to organise this. i have made a start and some considerable headway in the time.

the other thing weve got to consider is that these companys will be giving up a certain amount of time/recorces f.o.c. on this and as far as the actual use of a rr the best we can hope for is a discount, and therefore will have to split the cost between us. (hopefully not too harsh though cos we will only be doing runs, not setting anything up. cos these are meant to be plug n play anyway) money well spent though if we end up choosing the correct product as a result

so if people are still genuinely interested ill make more enquires on monday but help to set it up would be very much appreciated. i can do the tuners if someone could look into the rr?

Shouldnt matter whos RR you use providing you get before and after figures for each chip to show differences.

Would perhaps be better getting 4 similar cars too. Ideally all on same car would be best as that would provide a constant for figures. If some cars have a ITG panel filter for example and one a Maxogen, the latter may provide a bigger gain for a chip than others so test of chips may only prove that some other mods help the chip work better too.

Really think to work best all chips are fitted to same car. But could share cost between some interested parties who are looking for a chip as next mod.

Would be a good idea if club could do things like this on our behalf for the enthusiasts amongst us. Would be interesting too as remapping is more expensive but most of these off the shelf chips are a lot more expensive than when I bought mine years ago, and £ per increase could prove better value with remap.

im willing to take part, ive just got a different back box and a k&n induction kit, but may be getting a de-cat soon, ive heard you can get chips that give you about 40bhp more and thats not a diesel?

that would be turbo diesel and its 30 per cent increase across the line not 40 bhp
