Ok then, back from the garage, 4 people have said its the bottom end - I think its a combination of the dephaser and a bottom end problem :( - video as promised - anyone wanna buy it :o

I was thinking it was something in the cam area, really wierd to be honest :( When i go collect the car, if they havent found the problem i will pop a video up myself of the actual sound :)

I get it too, happens everytime i start up now, also have an odd one where I turn my lights on and the speedo needle goes up to and fluctuates around 160mph - and increases mileage accordingly too......renault electrics!!!!

You can get alloy repair fluid (basically super glue) blob it in and sand it back :)

Just replaced both of mine, got them from andrew pages - were about a tenner each IIRC - there are 2 types, if they are the same as mine 172 PH2 the part no is : TC1438 (Delphi)

Ordered 2 cables from Andrew pages to change the cables over, one was blue with a spring on the end the other looked identical but the wire was too short. I have been looking on Euro Car Parts and found some which may work, but just wondered if anyone can confirm, never EVER had trouble...

The 1090t @ 4ghz is running at 29 idle and 42 under full load from prime on a xigmatec dark knight HDT cooler - i was rather impressed - will have a full custom WC loop installed soon :) - Glad ive found some geekdom here :)
