The car has been vibrating at higher speed and Renault said that it was the lower ball joint and as such the N/S/F suspension arm should be replaced - part no 8200197179
Just wondering if this is something that can be done myself - i have done things like change suspension struts and fit...
thanks mate, unfortunately due to my crash this weekend i can no longer insure a 172 so im going to have to go for a little run about 1.2 for a year or so.. will still mod it a bit so its nice, but really is just to tide me over until i can insure a proper clio!!
ah ok mate, cheers for the input. will have a look around then and see what seems the best value.. might be worth getting some decent upgraded pads and discs etc whilst im at it.
the main worry was the vibrations at high speed, but apparently this will be sorted with replacing the lower arm so...
Hi there guys,
Found out the clio im looking at buying needs a new lower ball joint on the front nearside - but said they would have to do the enitre arm. Renault quoted me £152.50inc fitting... is this a good price would you say - the lower arm is quoted at £50.59
Also they have quoted me...
OK cheers mate, will have them take a look tommorow :)
he crashed it before but it was repaired by the insurance - not written off - so wasn't that bad... he is leaving with the army soon so needs it gone quick and like i mentioned it needs a couple of little bits sorting. the only major thing...
ah cheers mate, so long as its not a big job thats good - was annoying the hell out of me hahaha!
been looking at some of the cars on here and other sites and really liking the way clios can be modded. its a shame i can only insure the 1.2 (for under £1k) and not something like a 172 or...
Hi guys,
After crashing my MG ZR 1.8 this weekend i am now unable to afford insurance next year and what with going to uni next year i think i may as well get a cheaper car anyway... so there goes my plan of a 172 at the end of summer and now been thinking of a clio mk2 ph2 1.2 billabong.
My...
Being 18. driving for 7 months and having just wrote off my MG ZR i really dont think any one is going to insure me on a V6 lol.
Already had 2 ZRs (didnt write off the first one) and so i was looking for something different. But obviously with insurance prices, etc i am restricted.
Thought...
blooody hell! lol
reminds me of when i was buying a laguna splitter recently for my ZR, they wanted £75 or something for it! dealers always cost the most... but i guess if you want to do it properly you have to pay the price.
Yeah true, i saw one on prima which was £800 or so but apparently a guy who bought that spent thousands getting it fitted correctly at Xquisite.
Think i will give the kit a miss then. I dont suppose its possible to buy the genuine panels from renault themselves?
that was my worry.
wont bother if its not going to be much good.
will have to wait a few years then until i can insure the real thing.
shame as would have been awesome to be able to make a decent rep as the V6 really is such a stunning car!
Hi,
I am looking at buying a new car. Thinking of buying a mk2 clio with smallish engine for insurance reasons.
