Lower Ball Joint & Front Discs/Pads replacement

Hi there guys,

Found out the clio im looking at buying needs a new lower ball joint on the front nearside - but said they would have to do the enitre arm. Renault quoted me £152.50inc fitting... is this a good price would you say - the lower arm is quoted at £50.59

Also they have quoted me £241.77inc fitting for a set of front discs and pads.. this seems ridiculously expensive to me! I paid £30 for my discs and pads on my ZR and got them fitted for £20..

If it is as much of a rip off as i'm thinking anyone got a link to a good place to buy discs and pads?

OE discs are about £100 pads about £40. so fitted it doesn’t seem to excessive for a dealer.

GSF are good for aftermarket stuff

ah ok mate, cheers for the input. will have a look around then and see what seems the best value.. might be worth getting some decent upgraded pads and discs etc whilst im at it.

the main worry was the vibrations at high speed, but apparently this will be sorted with replacing the lower arm so that should be ok.

thanks mate, unfortunately due to my crash this weekend i can no longer insure a 172 so im going to have to go for a little run about 1.2 for a year or so.. will still mod it a bit so its nice, but really is just to tide me over until i can insure a proper clio!!
