Looking at a 172 this week, 52 Reg, 22,000 miles!
It is currently owned by an ex Renault dealer salesman (negotiations should be interesting) but before that the vehicle was owned by Renault UK, i found this out because in the advert the plate had an 'HK' (Hampshire) on the plate. I used to...
Expensive?
Compared to other cars on autotrader didnt think it looked bad value! Think im going to swerve it, need to sell my car first anyway, and still unsure of what colour to get the clio in either.
Looking at a 172 tomorrow (after a dodgy 182 a while back), what do you think to this?
silver
unmodified
03 Reg
4 Months Renault Warranty
31200 miles
36k service done two weeks ago
2 new tyres
£7200
the guy wants to replace it with a wrx - reckon the 172 will be cained?
what do you reckon...
That is some serious bhp/£ ratio, fair play chap! You must be able to waste type r's with that!
To be honest i would prob only do the inlet manifold and the ecu as i am not partial to the sound that an uprated zorst and induction kit provides. Plus its cheap and the insurance companies wont...
Hi Ben!
Were the 13bhp gains just from the inlet manifold?
What would be the rough bhp gains on a standard 172 with the reworked inlet manifold and the remapped ecu from yourself?
I asked him to fix it but all he said he could do is swap the wheels over (like that would make a difference)!
Suppose it wouldnt be covered by renault warranty either! WHHYYYYY!
Just drove the clio!!!!
It was spot on apart from when releasing my hands from the steering wheel it went to the lefft slightly, what do you think the problem is, the chap at the dealership said it might be cause the air pressure was down 2lb on the front left tyre but im not so sure this...
The actual car is on this link.

Ive driven a 172 before so know what to expect, just hope its not a humdinger of a motor.
I am test driving it tomorrow with the chequebook at the ready!!
Do you regret your decision then Alan?
Any probs with the motor? I have to say on the forum there arent many reports about problems with Renaults. I think there is a stigma about Renault and reliability but i dont think its as bad as they say. I worked for Renault UK on my placement year and...
I know what you mean but i was originally going to get a mk2 172 but though i might as well spend the extra grand or so on the 182 with a warranty, i cant really strech another 3k just to get a new one!
well..........it has a little scuff on the front left wheel, and it had a dent in the roof (dont ask me how) that got repaired and has left tiny bubbles not in the paint work but in the metal work. You cant really see it buts it the same circumference as the base of a champagne glass.
It is a...

that the motor is £1231 under the price for an independant dealer
Hello Boys and Girls
I am new to the forum although i have been searching through the threads.
I have had my 99 Fiesta zetec since it was a year old (first car) and after months and months of trying to find a car that would satisfy me i have decided on a 182.
I have found an example that i...
