Finally fixed it myself. The old catch was completely rusted to oblivion. Had to pry it out!

I checked with Renault UK, they said that my reg is not on the recall list. I bought the mechanism online, I had experience with clios in the past so i'll replace it myself saving myself £80!

Contacted both the nearest dealer and Renault themselves. They will not replace it for free as some did get. Recommendations?

Infinite fuel is no more. It fixed itself the following day. i guess the gauge thawed itself. damn

i got Infinite fuel? sweet! Everything works perfectly, no warning lights, just the screen that frozen. The stalk end button doesn't do anything too, maybe once the car thawed a bit later on today, it'll be fine. hopefully.

I had a knocking sound in my car in a similar situation and sometime i felt knocking through the brake pedal. Turned out it was a faulty ABS ring reluctor. Replaced it and its all fine and dandy.
