Just been to good old Kwikfit - they did road test as well as up on ramp for free wheeling check and confirmed it was the rear o/s wheel bearing - stock item and fitted within the hour all for £83.05 = jobdone!
Can be replaced by removing wheel arch lining and without taking wheel off - just takes a bit off negotiating through all the bits with a long arm - mine ended up bruised for a week but saved taking the bumper etc off. Oh and have the new one ready to put on or you'll end up with a little...
Help....
Anyone know how to oepn the bonnet of a 172 clio - new recall new catch fitted ages ago, I think the cable has come off the lever on bonnet?
Thanks
Mine is the passenger side one as well - when I had to replace the fog light down there, I did so by squeezing between arch liner and bumper so hopefully will be able to get to the washer nut the same way - Thanks for the info = amazing a spare part from Renault which costs under £30.....
Hi All
Has anyone ever had the end of the washers 'pop' out so it no longer directs the water at the headlight? One of mine has disappeared and when I try and wash the headlights I end up washing the car in front?
If so how much are they and how easy are they to fit new ones?

Hi All
Wondered if anyone has a secret way of keeping their wiper blades in good nick. Mine seem to smear across the screen and normally all I do is give them a wipe with the chamois when washing the car - any tips greatly appreciated!
Update on exhaust - had cheapo kwikfit one and to say it was bad.............very cheap and nasty.
Took it back to kwikfit and the very nice guys ordered in the proper Renault ones instead and swapped them over free of charge!!!
still 3yr waranty and much quieter now - moral of story is...
I've just last week had a cat-back exhaust for my 172 fitted from kwikfit and all I can say is don't use them. Costs £125 for middle section and £225 for the rear box and sounds awful = £350 in total and could of had a Renault one for alittle more - wish I had now.
Thanks for the replies - already use K-Tec for other bits as I live near to Verwood - unfortunatley I would be unable to drive much further than that with only half the exhaust system now on the car!
Looks as if it's kwikfit fo me then!
Richard
Meant to say quote was for the standard mild steel one, oh and one other thing - having to get it done asap as half of back pipe and rear box are no longer fitted to the car - they were taken off on saturday before they fell off!
Would fit a stainless steel one if I had longer to search around...
Wonder if you could all enlighten me!
I have just been quoted £350 all in, for middle pipe and rear box on my 2001 mkII 172 and just wondered if this was about right as seems abit steep to me? Quote comes from Kwikfit so not sure if there might be cheaper places to go to.
Thanks
Richard
Hi Guys
Does anyone else have a few minutes of lumpy jerky running from cold on their 172? Seems to come and go at different times of the year so not down to the cold weather me thinks......Any Ideas?
Soon disappears but can get quite difficult to speed up to change gear for a couple of...
Sure it will not look like all the others once it has been RenaultSported... Hope they choose decent design for the alloys this time round to save us all getting them replaced though eh....
