I picked up a scenic shifter from my local scrappy for about £10, maybe worth trying to replace it? If you think it's working, install it, and in a few weeks time it fails, you might be stuck without reverse, for a very silly reason!
Car passed it's MOT first time, 3 advisories!
- Damaged inner CV, but still functioning.
- Front tyres worn on the inner.
- Front brake pads low.
Next updates will be getting that sorted, plus some other general maintenance, plus hopefully something fruity in the way of modification.
Yep, was walking back to my car as you went past!
The back entrance to the business park is closed for 4-6 weeks, so getting out of the park between 4pm and 7pm takes an hour and a half, the entire park locks up. We've started parking along there because its a 5 min walk from the offices, and...
Two posts in one!
First track piccies from Curborough. Car was ace, track was ace, other people were ace! Not much else to say, except I need more time on track to keep up with @dann2707
But also, I tried Dann's @JON FOZ seat mounts and was super impressed, so I bought some.
So first...
Yeah buddy! Although points I would make are...
1) If you bought his fitting kit with it, don't use the bolts, they are cheese.
2) Use Etch primer, then primer, then paint.
3) If you're going to keep the trim, bolt up the arches, then put the trim in, then bolt the floors.
Still maintain our...
Was great to see you and the wheels at Curby! You're driving has improved load and the car felt really sweet!
Oh and I'll take that £20 whenever mate... ;)
Car has been fine, but needed bits doing. Changed the gearbox oil and that feels nicer, although maybe placebo as I'm, sure I saw liquidized syncro pour from the box...
I've also suffered a bit ofsttering wheel wobble at 60mph+, and couldn't work out if was an out of balance wheel or if it was...
I used the a Dremel with metal cutting discs and it was fine. Underside is messy but you never see it.
I use the square holes in the front bar so the clips sit on the top of a curve and are flush. There's more pics in my project thread here.
As mine is a cheapy ebay special cage, I doubt it does too much, may even make it more dangerous in some situations. But a proper Safety Devices cage or something similar, I have no doubt would be a help in case you end up on your roof.
Scenic Shifter, Yanoo Stiff Shift 3.0, extra inch taken off the linkage.
I like that the 3.0 allows you to dial in the stiffness, and the Scenic Shifter and shortened linkage put the stick in a much nicer place.
Would definitely get my vote on a road car.
The tower is higher on the Scenic...
@dann2707 I have some 54mm spaced hubs you can have for the price of postage (£10er), complete with ABS sensor, but they'll need new bearings. Or even just the one.
Hope everything's OK with the car, shat my pants when I saw the pic before the explanation!
Just had a peek, you've got a new knob! That looks much better though, far more comfortable position.
Mine's not so far back, I only took the link down by 10mm, but I'm tempted to go 10 more. Certainly feels a lot better. I lubed up my Yanoo kit and tightened it up as well and it feels...
