Cold limit is 6800 rpm iirc not 5500 so I don’t think that’s the issue.
Does it rev completely normally (I.e. freely & normal amount of power/torque) up until 5500?
It does seem like quite a good idea tbh.
Cars with powerflex bushes in particular have loads of hysteresis / stiction. Sit in the boot, it goes down 40mm, get out and it only goes up 30mm type thing. Until you jump around a bit to help settle it. So that makes the spring/damper less effective...
I’m sticking up for magazine tests.
There’s one key advantage that outweighs everything IMO:
* Back to back test is as accurate as you can get. Consumers are normally comparing a brand new tyre to a 3 year old tyre and trying to remember what the old tyre was like when it was new on roads that...
Are you going rallying? If so just buy one. Forget the fact that 50-60k is probably a bargain compared to buying all the parts and fabricating a shell, the real value is the fact that even historic rallying will be fully electric by the time you find all the original parts 😀
Alternatively you...
Should you need to fix or replace anything Dell/Alienware desktops are the computing equivalent of a car being held together with 15.5mm nuts/bolts, having 16.5” wheels and having a triangular oil filter.
OK that’s a bit exaggerated, but they love using non standardised connectors or non...
Forget the max Q, I’m talking about the “regular” mobile versions.
RTX 3080 mobile compared to the desktop part: 30% less cores, 30% less TMUs, 20% narrower memory bus, GDDR6 not GDDR6X, no doubt much lower clocks, 65% lower TDP.
What am I missing?
Can a laptop offer decent performance, sure...
Not sure if this has been mentioned, it might not be obvious to someone shopping for their first gaming pc…
…a laptop RTX 3090 is absolutely not the same as a desktop RTX 3090 for example. Same name but bear little technical or performance resemblance.
Would be like if they took 2 cylinders...
Besides not taking a million years & numerous failed attempts to connect, another advantage of this Bluetooth device is that it appears to consume far less power than the CLIP interface. So you’ve actually got half a chance of using it for an extended amount of time somewhere where you can’t put...
When is anyone allowed to modify their car then? Is it when they are within 15% of Lewis Hamilton’s laptime? 14%? 12%? And how do I convince Hamilton to set a time in a 16 year old Clio.
It sounds like a PlayStation game. What is the time that you have to beat to unlock the right to buy stage 1...
Unless I’m being an idiot, the same website also reckons that there are only 293 ph2 V6 in the UK (2007 Q4, 263 taxed + 30 SORN).
Meanwhile Wikipedia says that 1309 were produced. So for every 1 sold in the UK there were 4 sold abroad?! Mmm really?!
And it’s missing about 30 of the UK Trophys?
I think it’s a shame that the Laguna’s rear end is no more sophisticated than a clio or megane, but I guess this should still be more capable than a clio in medium speed corners due to being able to fit much wider tyres?
How much do mk1 weigh?
Apart from being green and the cage being similar, do you have any "supertouring esque" plans?
Love the idea of a green mk1 on gold wheels. It's going to look great.
The requirements, reliability & cost points above hit the nail on the head so no need to repeat, but the talent argument is easy too. Generally you gain most of your ultimate ability, in anything, relatively quickly.
At this point gentleman drivers in historic sports car racing go and buy the...
I’ve bought top mounts separately before, so would assume that topmounts don’t come with the upper spring seat.
Not a huge amount of help as it would take some trial and error, but there must be something universal on eBay that works well enough?
Try giving @Kev@KAM / kamracing.co.uk a go, he...
I didn't mean to sound like your car is worth nothing or that an 06 plate isn’t a bit more reassuring than an 04 plate.
But an 06 plate alone doesn’t automatically make a boggo 182 worth the same as these 6/7/8k Cups or Trophys or Liquid Yellow that you see on collectingcars for example.
I...
Rare for a 182 yes, guaranteed increase in value no.
Find out the build date, as a knowledgable buyer would understand that there could be 55 plate cars built after it and, although unlikely, technically it could have been built as early as 2003.
Always makes me laugh when people confuse...
Emailed support late at night and had an English download link in my inbox the next morning.
Pros
No messing around with drivers or cracks during install. Mount an ISO, connect to car, enter license key and away you go.
Can connect to all the modules on a 182, clear some (?) code, view &...
Damn you beat me to it 😂
There aren’t any conventional isolators like so:
There are supposed to be isolating sleeves, on cup packed 182s at least, which aid NVH by preventing metal-on-metal coil clash and aid durability by prevent grit from getting caught between coils and grinding against...
Well it arrived. "This is a bad sign" I thought...
Oh well, who needs readme files anyway... apparently I do
Well at least there's a download link on the product page, I'll try that. Oh ffs.
Everyone's moaning about mining & scalpers, but presumably there's a lot of prebuilts being bought purely to break for parts.
Sounds like you can buy a prebuilt pretty much at your own discretion. Lobbing the graphics card on ebay for 1-3k depending on model easily covers compensates the hit...
Out of interest what can you possibly need that Afterburner doesn't do?
Granted, the OC'ing part takes up a hilarious amount of screen space considering that it's basically three or four slider bars, but fortunately MSI have basically left the monitoring bit alone since the days of Rivatuner so...
I have three specific complaints about cooksports, all of which are related to travel & rate so may be better/worse on other lowering springs but shouldn’t be present on cup springs or decent coilovers.
Fit them & think they’re brilliant due to noticeably reduced roll & balanced shifted...
Pretty sure there are at least two variants with different diameters of “ARB” welded inside the L section?
I seem to remember keeping a stripped spare 172 & a stripped known-straight 182 cup beam in my shed for a few weeks & telling the difference by measuring OD with a vernier. If I’m wrong it...
