Car and Bike in bonnybridge. Few members on here have used him, I know the owner personally and he is a fantastic painter. Won a couple of max power awards back in the dark times! 01324 812131
I have conti's on mine at the mo and i hate them. They squirm and squeal, dont inspire confidence. I have nexen's on my 182 wheels and they are surprisingly good (not recommending them but i was pleaseantly surprised by them). PE2's for me next!
As far as I know it could be done after you have purchased the car but it would prob be more worth your money fitting aftermarket suspension. Just because it's non cup doesnt make it bad. It'll handle very well.
I'm a massive jap fan at heart and I would have the 200 over the the typeR all day...
As above, I like the idea of it. Cooler if it was a track car with some other tastfully chosen bits n bobs. And to be fair it looks quite well fitted! Nearly better than a genuine V6 lol
Looks a clean and tidy example. Make sure to order a set of exhaust mounts when you change the exhaust too, cheapest i found was from northwest performance. Have a search on here about induction kits too, ph1 172 or v6 airbox's flow great and are considerably cheaper than aftermarket ones...
Holy s**t, what is it with all the closet police in here. "you were going too fast" I cant see his speedo and no one is hero enough to be able to tell the speed off an embedded vid from youtube FFS!
Good idea mate, ideal if you are ever in a bump. Hope you dont ever need it though!
If you buy an engine you would do all the belts for safetys sake. more money than needed. I'd go for a rebuilt head or a second hand head, get your belts done at the same time obv, to do it yourself, i'd say under 1k. Specialist on here will the people to speak to. Will be able to point you in...
Speak to a specialist on here see what a ballpark figure might be. Transport the car to them. Have a search for similar threads (i know there is quite a few) and see what peoples outcomes were.
Bent valves is highly possible, but you can get second hand heads for reasonable money if you need to pay for the work. Just dont pay renault, it'll cost you silly money. Engine will need to come apart to see what the damage is like.
last 4 days have been spent refurbing the wheels, was in need of 4 tyres so decided to get them removed, refurb the wheels ourselfs and then refit 4 new T1-R's
tyres are going on wednesday, mot, tax and insurance on thursday and it will be back on the road, pics with the wheels fitted still...
Re: 182 performance hesitating when reaching the variable cam timing point in the rev
Mine pops and bangs when I start from cold for about 700yards. But thats due to a leaky exhaust... i think!
Man after my own heart, I much prefer the 172 rear end. Then along came a 182 at a rather good price and now i have wheelbarrow exhausts! :( Happy with the car though!
Well I've dipped out then.
However I'd still be spending £300 +-, more if I changed the dephaser and then I'd have to do the job (first time also). So for the £500 you pay, for instance, BTM (unbiased opinion because I dont know him or have any dealings) I'd say its a good deal considering...
