Don't suppose anyone has figured out a solution that allows use of OEM pre-tensioners? I know Jon Foz's Recaro mounts allow this, but am wondering it can be done with his subframes as well.
Seen lots of posts about bolting belt buckles to side-mounts for bucket seats, but what if I'm using base-mounted seats with Jon Foz subframes? How do I mount the belt buckle?
I've done the opposite of what most people do - refitted OEM seats with airbags and pretensioners on a car which previously had buckets and has had its UCH coded for deleting these items. I've now got the airbag and SERV lights on after connecting everything back up.
Am I right in assuming that...
Yes, got my eye on those, as it's one of the few designs that looks sufficiently premium. I could always fit Clubsports but they're too cheap feeling for this car :)
Got an appointment booked next week to try a few seats. Only a 5 hour round trip!
Which buckets have a bit of recline and don't force you to sit bolt upright?
For reference, Corbeau Clubsport XLs are perfect for me but Recaro PPs are too upright.
Low side bolsters are a bonus, as it's for a 100% road car.
5'9" but with unusually short legs. My upper body is comparable to the average 6'3" male and my legs are comparable to someone 5'2".
Sitting too high isn't just an issue of head hitting roof, but if the seat cushion is too high I can't get comfortable reaching pedals given silly short legs.
My recently-acquired 182 came with beautiful Recaro PPs which are like works of art, but I can't get comfortable in them.
I'm eyeing up Sportsters and Trendlines, but wondering if going to 182 FF OEM seats might be an option. However, I'm put off by reports about the high driving position...
Personally I'd avoid using claims-management firms as they're one of the reasons why premiums have skyrocketed, but I understand why some might opt for one.
If third-party insurer is willing to deal with you directly then that's probably the most efficient route, as long they are a reputable...
With Frayz’ blessing I'll try to continue this thread which has given me and others so much insight and enjoyment.
I’ve not usually one to document my car ownership online, mainly because I’m rubbish at photography, but for this special car I’ll try to make the effort. While I usually can’t be...
Nice. 3D printed or did you buy the base caps off the shelf? Genuine Evo Corse caps aren't cheap and aren't particularly attractive imo, so looking for other options that fit the X3MA.
Absolutely. Would love to join one of your drives as well.
(I feel a bit like I've just married Frayz' ex, but they're still on really good terms and all his mates still want to see her as well.)
Thanks to Frayz, a complete gentleman and proper enthusiast, for giving me the opportunity to acquire WZD.
While it won't be my daily, it will be enjoyed and cherished thoroughly in the same manner it was in Frayz' ownership.
Now, anyone want to buy an LY?
Some surface rust on top of the OS rear turret (where some water found its way in one time, hasn't got worse in years), and a couple of bubbles on the OS rear arch where a previous owner had rolled the arch (again, hasn't worsened so wasn't a priority for me).
I'll be pulling the side skirts...
I've got a highly modified Liquid Yellow full fat 182 that will be coming to market soon. As it stands it has a very good spec and needs nothing mechanically, but could benefit from some cosmetics (bumper and bonnet chips and scuffs, and some surface rust.)
It's not a collectors item and I'm...
That should be nice and compliant. OE is roughly 3.25 kgs F / 5.75 kgs R for comparison.
I'd be tempted to go stiffer at the front - 6 kgs - as this will aid steering response and turn-in without adversely affecting compliance.
I'd say suggestions can be helpful to give others ideas for who to try, but sharing prices is meaningless unless your circumstances are directly comparable: age, record, and most importantly postcode. Try getting a quote for a modded car in East London...
I've always used specialist brokers and...
