Climate control temp sensor missing - wiring it back in

Thanks. I really am a dummy when it comes to electrics. To connect the CC sensor do I need to replace the entire loom, or just a bit of it? Do I simply plug the required section into the green plug pictured, or do I take the dash apart?

Climate control temp sensor missing - wiring it back in

Checked cogs and they are fine. As I understand it climate won't work without the sensor?

Climate control temp sensor missing - wiring it back in

I found these loose connectors behind the left side of the dash. Could they be related to the CC wiring? I also found this CC loom on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renaultsport-Clio-182-Climate-Control-Wiring-Loom-With-Connectors/163785542284?hash=item2622610a8c:g:xKsAAOSwZJBdNDwq...

Climate control temp sensor missing - wiring it back in

Thanks - makes sense. Is there a simpler way to get the heating controls working again without replacing the loom? Not bothered about AC. Electrics not my forte tbh.

Climate control temp sensor missing - wiring it back in

My 182FF with climate has been stripped including all electrics in the roof lining. Not surprisingly the heater and AC don't work properly. Sometimes I get hot air and other times cold, and the temperature controls don't seem to work. How difficult would it be to wire a sensor back in?

    New LY owner

Thanks. Might do the odd track day here and there but I'm mostly a road driver, as in "get up at the crack of dawn and finish before other people wake up" kind of driving. Also love a good road trip - planning to take the Clio to the top of Scotland this year if things have calmed down by then.

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

As an alternative suggestion OP, a Celica T-Sport/190/VVTL-i is within your budget and is likely to be cheaper to run than the equivalent Honda, Audi or Renault.

Ha - I knew that would be the first response :) I'm more of a words than a photos person tbh.

Trackdays aren't a measure of how special or fun a car is, imo. A Lotus Elise is one of the very best driving experiences you can get, but you don't see that many on track and when you do they're usually being overtaken by hot hatches. A stock TT will go around a track or B-road quicker than...

    New LY owner

I almost never do self-intro posts, but wanted to make an exception as I have been delighted to discover ClioSport is still going strong. These days Facebook groups (a poor substitute for a proper forum) have mostly killed off sites like these, so it’s great to see this place is still active...

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

TBH if a TT is in your consideration set, then a 182 may not be a good fit. A TT and 182 are about as polar opposite as you can get. Coming from a Fiesta ST (a very good steer in its own right) a 182 will initially feel slow, rattly and old. You won't beat anyone off the lights, you won't...

OP, looks like you’re in Herts. Recommend you look at this one being sold by a friend near Hertford: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Renault-Clio-182-FF-2005-98k-miles-great-mechanical-condition/324093110066?hash=item4b75746732:g:qKkAAOSwlxNeYBPG It’s been very well looked after and I’m sure Simon...

If you’re used to turbos any NA will initially feel slow. Compared with modern stuff a 182 is not quick by any means. These cars are all about the raw connection to the road. You have to punt it hard on a B road to “get” it.

182 - Cup spoilers but not suspension

Thanks - appreciate the input - but I really like the anthracite wheels and the trim differences between Cup and non-Cup aren't an issue for me. (I am also considering 172 Cups hence a bargain-basement interior is not really a problem.) From what I'm aware the Cup suspension does make a...

182 - Cup spoilers but not suspension

Ah thanks. OK, so we are looking at five iterations: 182, 182 Cup, 182 with Cup spoilers, 182 with Cup suspension, 182 FF. Simple when you know how. As it looks like Cup spoilers are no guarantee of Cup suspension, I'll have to restrict my search to the Cup, or cars specifically advertised as...

182 - Cup spoilers but not suspension

Sorry if this has been covered before - I did search! I'm looking to buy a car with Cup suspension, either a Cup or a FF with the Cup suspension, and want to be able to easily identify them from the many cars on the market. I'm aware of the differences in the strut spacing 54mm vs 60mm, but...
