Anyone else with a modded Clio in Central London having trouble getting renewals?
My previous insurer refused to renew based on my E14 postcode. Best price ringing around is £980. I'm in my 50s with full no claims, one SP50 from 2020.
I tried a 450 lbs rear spring on a full coilover which was utterly undrivable on the road.
I went back to OEM fitment rear springs and separate dampers paired with front coilovers. I didn't see any advantage to a rear full coilover and was concerned that the rear turrets weren't up to the...
I had an R26.R. The Megane mk2 offers the small, wieldy dimensions of a Clio and moves around on the road like a Clio with obviously a lot more torque. The Megane mk3 despite being objectively more competent and significantly more planted feels a lot bigger and heavier and for me, less fun.
If using a 15" rim fit a 195/55/15 tyre. The difference in rolling radius between 205/45/16 and 195/55/15 is 0.4%. You're not going to cause any damage with that.
I’ve just started a driving trip and have managed to get a hole in my sump.
Before I get recovered home down south and forgo my trip - anyone know someone who might have a 182 sump and could fit today?
Currently by the side of road near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales
Thread revival time...
Just got quoted £190+vat for one panel with 5-6 small dents.
Anyone know a mobile dent man who covers North London and is a bit more reasonably priced?
I have to admit I don't have direct experience of Asy 5 (only Asy 3) but have been informed by those with back to back experience that they wear quicker plus PS4 treadwear is rated 320 vs Asy 5 300.
For me personally PS4s have been harder wearing than other comparable UHP road tyres but if...
Nice. There is certainly a crossover between RS and Subaru enthusiasts. In fact in 33 years of owning cars, RS and Subaru are the only makes I've owned more than once.
I'm on my seventh Scoob, a '97 classic with 2.1 stroker and DCCD drivetrain.
It was a great event even if I did have to park in the mud :) quick jetwash sorted that.
Highlight for me was @CFAB's immaculate Titanium 182. Clio goals.
AD08RS and NS-2R have much stiffer sidewalls than PS3 or Rainsports without being as extreme as a full-fledged track tyre like the AR-1. I run AD08RS in 195/50/15 and although my Clio is a weekend fun car only I'd have no problem running year-round.
Never used one but reckon you'd need a more than usually powerful PW for those roller types to work (plus possible clearance issues as above). I use a 90 degree curved lance and even that is fairly tight under (my not overly lowered) 182.
I'd argue that they're still under-valued in the current market. Same with all RS Meganes bar the Clio V6 and R special editions. When you look at prices nowadays across the board, a 200, R26 or 250 are all total bargains.
