I can imagine it’s pretty different to the times I’ve been in that part of the world - we’ve usually been exceptionally lucky with the weather!

Vodafone Gigafast is offering average speeds up to 900Mbps (!!) from £23 per month. Only in certain geographic locations (obviously - you can’t network the entire country in a short space of time).
Just installed a DTR-T2100 for my folks following your recommendation. Paid £40 on eBay and it’s pretty decent compared to the 2010 Sony HDD recorder they had previously.
Not hooked up to the internet yet - I’ll give them some time to adjust to the new UI before bamboozling them with catch-up...
How old is it? My carbon one is 8+ years old and it’s really bad. I’m going to trying sanding it down and re-lacquering it, I figure I’ve got nothing to lose.
