I find Billberry wheel cleaner on a brush cleans the tyres nicely before applying any product. The other issue with Megs endurance is it builds up on the tyre and goes pretty sticky and messy after a while. If your tyres have a lot of texture on the sides, it can be a real pain to clean off.
Impeccable taste and superb attention to detail Ash.
Beautiful job so far, and it’s gonna be even more mega when it comes back.
Wish you well with your plans dude, and looking forward to the update. 😎👌🏼
Then you get those losers who have every single receipt including, every MOT and tax disc, and its original bill of sale.
Yet the blazin squad will tell you it’s worth f’kall because it’s got more than 120k on the clock. 😂😂
Small but satisfying job today. When I originally owned the car I was always careful around the delicate and rather fragile fuse box clip.
These were fragile at the best of times, and sure enough, when I bought the car back, this had been broken off.
I’d been meaning to replace the fuse box for...
Another vote for Gtechniq, they do 2.
T1 - Tyre Dressing and T2 Tyre & trim.
T1 is like a very thin white water, really thin and easy to apply. More than durable enough for what i think you're after.
T2 is still water based but a clear gel, almost like washing up liquid consitency. A bit more...
It takes you actually building a really really high fast car before you realise its doesn't equate to proportionally more enjoyment.
Its something you have to do yourself before you get it, a bit like having kids :D
Its just a daily i tell myself. The appeal of the useable midrange torque is nice. But i couldn't just fit an ED kit and be done with it.
It would involve building another motor, which would then be forged blah blah.
Then it would be buying another Syvecs, stronger boxes and all sorts, because...
Ah i was of the understanding they were oil cooled. Thanks for correcting.
The turbo route is something i too dangerously dip my toe into every now and then. However it would wind up a very very expensive route fore me, :D
Talking as a non turbo owner here,
Isn't the ED turbocharger oil cooled and as far as im aware the Garrets run water cooled cores so will require a little additional plumbing.
Not really an issue, but something to consider.
Have a go hero here mate.
I’d say priming is deffo worth it and let the primer cure fully.
Lightly flat the primer back with some 1500/2000 set dry and before you paint your top colour. Makes for a better finish as you’ll sand any ridges left in the primer.
What part is it youre painting
The move to electrification was an optimistic target as it was. All manufacturers have just been given a blank order “this is what we want” with the powers that be having given no foresight as to how we actually get there.
EV and battery technology is advancing every day, but there are still...
Used all sorts over the years and like you have found the lambs wool ones just don’t last. They rot from the inside out and just disintegrate.
Highly recommend the Gtechniq mitts. I keep mine clean and hang to dry after use and they last years. Keep one for your wheels and dirty areas and one...
Not at all as its no different to how it is now. The front of the car is a massively high pressure area. Imagine that air pressure at speed and its why you see bonnets blow off and straight up when their latches fail. The underside of the car is a low pressure zone and air will be going into the...
Probably because I’m an automotive development engineer and see the amount of work that goes into creating these cars to be driven. The hundreds of thousands of man hours to develop performance cars especially is massive.
Buying cars with a sensible head because they’re sought after is...
I'm an automotive development engineer and had a mate make it for me in another area of the building. Im not on the tools anymore so don't get to play with cars that much these days. He took my cooler and vacuum formed a duct to the design i wanted.
Boxed like that, the air simply has nowhere...
Still doesn't make sense to me. You should buy a car to enjoy its driving and ownership experience as a primary function.
If it makes money over time, great, if it doesn't, then its the same as any other car.
If i still owned my Sierra Cossie now, who knows what it would be worth, but id have...
Investment is one thing. But we should be investing in our enjoyment, not speculating on if our bank balance will increase from it.
My car is now touching 124k miles and I’ll continue to drive it and enjoy it. If in 10 years it’s worth £3k or £10k won’t matter. Because I will have used it and...
