Now for sale. Mechanically solid just need a new battery for the key fob and cosmetically still has they key scratch down the passenger's side.
Picking up a 2016 Polo Gti on Tuesday :D
Had a little play with someone earlier blue 172 cup it looked like. I say play but I didn't realise anyone was chasing me at first as u was just out for a blast. Either my brakes are toss or there was some oil round that way.
I noticed precisely no difference in my Vibratechnics drivers side engine mount compared to the standard and a tiny weeny bit uprating the dogbone. Do it.
The black is probably best but most people including myself go for the purple.
I would go for the black personally as I now have two Uprated mounts (dogbone and drivers engine) and there is no extra vibration.
Only vibrations I have are from my tigersealed rear exhaust mount.
Good idea. I don't work on my car much but having a 106 gti a while ago that I pulled apart taught me if I have the tools I can actually work on a car! Or at least have some confidence even if a 5 minute job takes me an hour!
Spend my money on sensible stuff
Track ace wheel aligner kit
Top mounts
Cup dampers
Tyres for the 15" wheels
Uprated gearbox mount
Then save cash for a 200 or 250 cup.
Did an oil change yesterday. Old stuff was looking brown so whacked in some Halford stuff I had sitting in the shed. Will do till the next change. Probably before a trackday.
Need to get some pics of how the car sits now. Most people complain the rear of the Clio sits too high but I think mine...
They're on and awesome! Not noticed much less body roll or significantly better handling but then I havent pushed it yet.
It's actually more comfy than the standard springs on the road. GREAT SUCCESS!!!
Apart from some cup dampers I should be getting off @Dooby I might get a panel filter and obviously some sort of semi slick and leave the car as is. Maybe, maybe get a drivers bucket seat or recliner and that's it.
Car is on 93k so should provide me with plenty of life yet.
Gonna save my cash...
So far i've had
Alternator break off (not really the car's fault that as it should have been held on with two and not one bolt)
Heater resistor packed in
Exhaust fusted to ruck
TDC (crankshaft sensor)
And now a cracked coil spring.
No 15" bud I think they are from an old skool Megane/Laguna. They seem to weigh less than my current sport 16" wheels and that's with humungous 65 profile tyres that are on them!
Not much to report lately.
Needed a new TDC so did that and a front spring broke so have ordered some Eibach Proline.
Also put the rear interior in (seats, parcel shelf and boot carpet and speakers and CD player- boot plastics are still in shed)
