I think no matter how much money I had, I'd always thrash whatever was on my driveway. If I won the lottery I wouldn't be filling a garage with supercars, I'd probably just buy me and my mate's a bunch of Caterham's to do trackdays in together!
I'd rather have the found memories of owning a 172/182/197 brand new or nearly new than buy one now or in the future as an investment. I couldn't get any enjoyment from keeping it tucked away and not driving it properly.
I think it's the same old story for most 'once popular' sporty hatchbacks. The more expensive desirable cars will stick around due to their value, but it could be a grim future the high street heroes like the Clio.
I have. 400bhp+ or something, on a track. I'd describe the experience as brutal rather than fun. Not the sort of car you can throw around like a rag-doll.
Golf Gti's are great cars, just not exciting. As I get older they appeal more to me, but they're certainly more of a good allrounder than an fun hot hatch.
Not attempting to sway the OP as he clearly wants a Renault, but I think a Swift is a better package than the Twingo. Nicer gearbox, generally better built, no cam belt...
Me and my brother had sporty Escort's too back in the day. I had a mk6 Escort 1.8 Si which was kinda like the insurance-friendly version. My brother had two RS2000's, one 2wd and one 4x4. His 2wd was in that lovely aubergine colour.
I'm sure some will disagree, but to me any sporty version of a hatchback can fall into the hot hatch category. I reckon too many think that the 0-60 time matters, when really it should just be a fun peppy version of a traditionally boring car.
First - MG Metro
Current - Swift Sport
Neither are hot, like myself. Both treated me well though. Can't be bothered posting pics, you know what they look like...
I've got the original iPhone SE, I've had it since they came out. I'm not a tech guy so I don't care about being cool and having the latest thing, so I'm tempted by this new one at that price. My SE has been faultless, even the battery still lasts well.
As said I'm not into phones, so can...
I couldn't get on with NS2R's, I found them overrated. Just like a decent but noisy road tyre. They're the control tyre in Max5 and my mate doesn't rate them either as a race tyre. I preferred the Federal RSR back when they were about same price. I'm not even sure they're still available though.
I follow Hubnut on YouTube who has recently been vlogging in NZ and I can't believe the variety of cars over there, especially how far you guys are from the western world!
As much as I'd like to buy it, I couldn't take it off your hands for what it's currently bidding for. Well I could but it would feel wrong lol. I'm sure you wouldn't let it go that cheap anyway!
