Misfire cured, was the crank position sensor so fitted a used spare for now. Ordered new blue style genuine one with the repair loom too though so will fit that when it arrives
Fabric painted the flocked dash top as it was looking tired. Still patchy any needs doing again properly really but looks less terrible now.
Reorganised the wiring a little too, just made it all a little bit neater.
And now annoyingly it's developed a misfire so will be chasing that out...
You know me, wheels change more often than the seasons. However in this case you're completely wrong, these are the best suited wheels for the car, FACT 😉
Just been using the car really now, so odd to look back over the thread and always a big job to do or issues, now I'm just jumping in it to grab milk or run to the office on the days I'm in. It's just brilliant to be out and about in it.
Nothing major left to do before Mallory, fitted standard...
Quick bath as sat unloved and unused for month or so whilst the mk1 track car has been in favour. But lent the RB to my sister again as her shitty seat gave up, so odyssey in daily use for a week or two! Such a lovely smooth drive this car now, absolute pleasure to cruise about in.
Nothing on the market for them, I run a modified mk2 whiteline with custom brackets that a mate made up for me years ago but not entirely convinced it does anything as the torsion style rear I think doesn't compliment the whiteline.
Jury still out
they're rubbish really for fitment
ideally you want to take it off completely and check the condition of all the mounts
also with the front sagging like that it looks like could be missing the front tray from the bottom of the bumper to the subframe that acts as a support to keep the front up
Raised the drivers side by 10mm to level it across the front axle and then sent to local place for geo.... Bit of a fight with it as my dremel spec coilover bolt slots weren't exactly analogue in their adjustment plane.... But all good, got 2 degrees neg and 10 mins toe out dialled in up front...
Refitted the lower lb front springs and coilover covers...
Car sits lower now and also dialled a bit of camber out just playing and have some... clearance issues. Nevermind all be sorted when geo gets done Wednesday
If you are on Facebook search for the Clio 1.8 16V groups and join them, most of us mk1 owners are over there now and there are folks who know the electrical side better than me. To my knowledge though the roof sensors and 'plip' sensor can be disconnected and the car still start, the...
Couple more niggles ticked off, carbon sleeve fitted to the PMS shifter, mat centres replaced with dark grey over the green (so 2012) and new horn fitted to headlight area instead of in wheel arch
Geo booked at a local place for 7th
Fooking hell that's been sat a while!
Fuel system stuff definitely Mat at the clio specialists as the phase 1 setup is specific to the car.
Have you dropped the tank yet to access the pump etc?
Some stuff can still be had new like brake components and things, eBay usually best tbh, then the are bordanova and young timers (Google them) for replica and hard to find stuff and Mat Brown (Clio specialist on Facebook) for everything else.
Bought this off Dunc up my way didn't you? I've...
That gearbox main earth that's already been mentioned, it'll be that. Remove it, clean mating faces both ends and also clean the bolts and bolt holes too
Okay so, rear beam Friday clearly never happened and plans have moved on again, so idea is to strip entire underside of the car off and sort every bit of rust, then upol the lot and never worry again.
So week off this week, missus was in that bath and had a couple of beers in the sun on the...
