Anyone timing that up to renault specs would have the same problem the cut outs in the pistons as std aren’t big enough for the lift of 422 cam unless you deepen the pockets.
Which the spark plug out on cyl 2 or 3 and put something carefully onto the top of the piston to show TDC when it's at TDC the pin will only go into the correct hole
All over this can’t wait! Food would be good too (Hope you don’t mind that i’m not a local member)

Yup mine is bent too! Not even a plus and never dropped it and rarely even have it in my pockets. Noticed it about a month ago, anyone know if apple will do anything about it?
Not sure on sample rate Kenny just the default by RT for oil pressure it does see the smallest of spikes
As you say it did really well for a stock bottom end and I'm happy with what I got out of it for how much it cost me :)
It's always a toss up to spend lots on a proper engine or just throw...
Yes you can order oversize bearings for the bearing face if you grind the crank etc but the fractional bearings from the factory are a different size on the back part of the bearings where they go into the block to allow for tooling at different stages of wear in the factory that does the blocks.
Yes without doubt, just a shame they always seem to die this way but it seems like a feature of the engine.
Yes don’t get me wrong it has ARP bolts, High comp pistons but the bits that cause the blow up were very old. I think we did change the big ends but not the mains as the mains are...
Yes thankfully will go again will probably put them in a std engine next week :)
No this was 80k mile old bearings etc nothing special :) it's had a years use with its head getting kicked in and been good as gold so very happy!
In 25 seconds it went from 100-125 and that was with me coasting...
At least Dan stayed and helped clean up :P
Thankfully for once it's pretty clear,
The centre main bearing has spun, this then blocks the hole for the oil feed to the crank and the rod on number 2 gets starved of oil and overheats (goes blue) and throws the rod when it's get to a certain...
195IB/FT :) it's effectively the same as a JC5 the weak point going more than that is the casing which is fundamentally the same with this box. I think the gears themselves will be fine at turbo level as we talked about using it for mine but the reason for me going turbo was because of the...
No need to resist :)
Yes it has a gripper plated diff in the box with straight cut final drive :)
Gears gifts can be made with or without the clutch which saves a good amount of time but the main advantage is the gear ratios and also the fact you loose the terrible syncro's and have a sturdy...
For Sale:
Selling a few bits to make way for some new bits over winter so thought i’d put them on here before doing a proper advert at the weekend!
First up is the Catcams Solid lifter, finger follower cam kit. This includes all the valve springs, cams, solid lifters, rockers etc. RRP is...
Just had a look at the video and data from the engine going bang and there was nothing to suggest a problem other than when I started to hear a clicking and I slowed down the oil temp gained temperature very quickly until it went bang. There was no oil pressure drop, no oil starvation in the...
Was great to watch from the sidelines and see baby burp on the limit! Thanks again as ever Tony for the hospitality and entertainment :) Hope you didn’t stop on 2 bottles of the vino ;)
In my opinion you want the oil between 100-130 stable on track at flat chat. Anything prolonged over this and I think you should try to find a way of dropping it a touch. Oil thins out at high temperatures and this reduces oil pressure. The last thing you want on these engines is a drop in oil...
It was 20 minutes practice, and then 2 30 minute race stints :) my first stint was shortened by the safety car.
Yeah it was only the first stint that was affected with the gearbox and then we fixed the mount so not too bad!
Yes I thought defending a bit too aggressively but was quite good fun...
Mmm not sure a remap will sort that sounds more like an issue probably an air leak on the joins in the manifold? Or ignition leads squashed when you’ve swapped the manifolds over?
