Had a bit of an early spring clean over the weekend, also treated myself to a Karcher last week so wanted to clean everything in sight!
Replaced the rear Type R badge, old one came off pretty easily after I utilized the Mrs' hairdryer, always get interesting looks from passing neighbours when...
I had quite a few more pictures to post but it hit the limit (because I duplicated everything like an idiot).
Here's some more from throughout the year:
The recent storm also decided to deface my rear Type R badge too, got a replacement somewhere so that's a job for this week, it was...
Cheers man, fingers crossed for you, enjoying your thread!
Isn't @leeds2592 your tea maker? I live 3 doors down from him so I'll have to invite him round to put the kettle on when I clean it this week!
Gearboxes need checking, it was difficult to get it into gear some times however now it's smooth as ever.
Check for rust/rot, timing chain as mentioned.
Mine makes a horrid crunching noise when starting up some times, this became identified as the 'K20A sneeze' and is actually a normal trait.
Ah cool, I'll check them out!
That's on the radar, among other things, I'm not aware of it being done at any stage.
Also can anyone tell me how to edit posts on here? I'm looking everywhere for an edit button on my original post as I've mucked up the images.
Hello,
Not sure how to describe my history with the forum, or my car history to be honest. I've been on and off here for years after a couple of RS purchases, namely a 172 Cup and a 197. It's been a couple of years since the 197 went but I still frequent the forum, so thought I would at least...
+1 for Newby. I'm certain it was last years event there were ridiculous queues and wait times for show cars, think I'll just buy a standard ticket again.
It's terrible, I think the ramp up to our cul de sac will one day actually break the Civic (not difficult to do so).
Thought I spotted a shady fella lurking behind the bins! Case closed.
They have started lining up performance cars along the front I've noticed, seen a few different motors over the months, last Summer they had an older model Monaro there and it had me creaming everytime I passed.
Yeah there were loads of expansion plans and drawings on the walls, they have quite a bit of space to play with being at Sherburn Aero Club.
They have some nice and unique stuff in, these are my pics from last June.
The fields were just a bog at the time, a bit of limiter bashing to get out...
There was an Albi Blue 200 for sale down Kirkstall Road (GMC2000 Motors) for a little while, I kept meaning to post it here or on FB for anyone interested. However, the other day I literally saw the new owner driving it off the forecourt so beat me to it! Looked very clean.
I went to the opening weekend, as previously mentioned it's a really cool place.
However, I fear it's going to become very busy, very quickly. Even now I've seen some of their make or model only meets littered with all sorts of motors. Not such a bad thing really, I'm waiting for it to...
Jamie is a bit of a pellet. one of those 'no mechanical knowledge but it's a nice colour and sounds nice' type of guys.
Nowadays MCM, Car Throttle, Carfection, Harry's Garage, BoostedBoiz and Hoovie's Garage are my go-to's. I've been recommended ChrisDrift also.
Wondered where it had gone - had my hopes up after I saw the Volvo on the drive and not the bean. Ah well.
I'll pop round for a cuppa at some stage within the next months...
Seen a silver 172 pulling out of the Goals turning on Kirkstall Road a couple of times now, both times whilst I've been waiting to cross (my street is opposite).
Can't remember which day, but anyway incase anyone here is a Goals regular!
I'll be going cars in the park again, as a guest again as it was a pleasure to stroll right in past the queues, who wants to see a battered EP3 anyway?
