The road rally boys really love one, but a friend of mine who does a lot of targa rallies and autoSOLOs (with quite a lot of success) bought one to replace his 106, but sold it almost immediately. He said the body felt like it was made out of jelly and he really hated it. I've not tried one...
Bit of a random one, but I was going through some pictures on my One Drive (I didn't even know I had a One Drive until today) and found these pictures on there.
Most folk tend to think of racing when it comes to the Clio, thanks to the Clio Cup no doubt. I always thought that was a bit strange...
Yeah it's definitely got a bit out of control. My local club started putting in some more noise restrictions, as some of the cars were a bit ridiculous.
My old Escort has ended up being used for targa rallies. I remember going to a targa a couple of years back and there was someone using a 106...
Remember reading an article about them a while ago. Quite an interesting story behind them. Despite the old man image, that gen of Rover 200 was quite well regarded I think.
Only on a few rallies though. I don't think he's quite as sharp as he used to be, but his experience will definitely help them. Going to be interesting to see if the new cars are reliable, as that could mix things up.
Ford are a funny one in the WRC. They have been there forever, but not actually been as successful as some might think.
They did win the manufacturer's title in 2006 and 2007, but the Citröen team wasn't actually a full works outfit in 2006, so that probably taints it a bit.
Sadly Ford have...
He left Subaru at the end of 1998. Ford paid him a huge chunk of money (think it was about five million) to go there, and he hadn't been getting on as well at Subaru in the later years. Nicky Grist was on the Collecting Cars Podcast a while back and talked through the whole story. Well worth a...
It certainly wouldn't be a bolt-on solution, as the geometry would inevitably end up wrong. Anything is possible with enough money of course, but the benefits probably aren't worth the cost/effort in reality.
Lovely, but not exactly original, as it will be a re-shell after the RAC off. Will still make a decent money though, because McRae and 2001. That era seems to be generating a fair bit of interest now.
Couple more...
This is in a building just up the road from me:
This belongs to my neighbour. It's a Ferrari Edition of some kind. He thinks it's the only one in the country. They did sell a few Abarths here, but not the convertible and not this model. He lived in France for a while and...
Went for a walk around my neighborhood last night and spotted a few things...
Apologies if the pictures are awful, but it was dark. First up, a Ford Crown Victoria. Common here, but I have a bit of a soft spot for them. I really want a modified one for some reason.
Jag XJ with saggy...
Thanks for the advice everyone, will pass it on.
There are definitely some pretty arrogant, nobbish people who do it, but some really good ones too. She follows one in particular, and I listened to a video he did (about learning to be a coach) and he relentlessly went on about how much money...
These are such a great looking car. The standard Puma looks a bit tall and narrow. The proportions of the FRP are basically perfect. It's just one of those cars where they got the looks bang on.
They just sound like a lot of hassle to me to be honest. I'd just leave the engine alone and enjoy going fast through the corners. If you want a fast Renault, just buy a Megane lol.
That looked lovely. The Prets were so much nicer than the standard wheels, and white, red and silver are great colours for the R. Far too many people went for blue.
Yeah I imagine they respond quite well to modifying, and I guess there is a lot you can do as they share so much with Golfs and...
Love the GTI. I nearly bought one of the Kiwi Yellow ones before I bought my 172 Cup in 2013/4. They looked great with the white wheels. I wasn't that impressed with the drive at the time but, looking back, part of me still wishes I'd bought it.
Love hot hatches from that era.
Lots of clever people on here, so hopefully someone can give a bit of advice...
My missus (no) has started a business offering life/relationship coaching. She has been doing ok and has a few clients, but is now looking to make it a bit more serious with a view to hopefully making it something...
Think you were singing it when I got my Megane
If I had another it would probably be white or grey. Liked the red but, just like a Clio Trophy, it fades, so wouldn't want that.
Mid box chop solves that issue to be honest, as it gives them a bit of extra aggression without any horrible droning. It's all about the chassis really though. The engine is just the thing to get you to the next twisty bit.
Black is the worst colour for them sadly. Wouldn't want a black one.
I want to join in, so here's the Golf I had for a year:
Extremely capable, but not really involving enough for my tastes. I do really rate the MK7 Golf overall, but would probably have a manual GTI PP if I had another, or an Edition 40 if I could find one in the right spec.
Not driven the...
Depends what you want from the car really. I've not been in a turbo Clio, but I imagine it would feel pretty raw and lairy compared to a Megane. The 250/265/275 is more grown-up, comfortable and a much better every day car (though still quite a lot more extreme than a lot of hot hatches), so it...
Agree with @Naffoff. It looks blinkin' brilliant in the grey with the few red details.
I think liveries on track days are a bit, well, naff (sorry :ROFLMAO: ) really.
I guess they might get less viable now Evos are going up in value, though I suppose there are some other options. Some of the proto cars are getting quite advanced now, with long travel suspension like an R5 car. Shame it's mostly done abroad as MSUK are so boring.
