I had a business card but have lost it! I just found it retracing my steps using google maps! He is excellent but doesn't speak a word of English! Frank from the ringhaus pointed me in his directions. Frank/ringhaus is 300m or so from the entrance to the track...
I put the harness in temporarily. Very happy with the colour combo of the cage/harnesses. I need to get painting inside but I'm away next weekend so it may be a few weeks away. Roll on the longer summer nights!
Hi
I've just picked up my car with the new R022 cage from Safety Devices. I believe this is the first customer car to have it fitted. Here are some photos for those who are interested. I'm very happy with the cage. It should look better when I get time to paint and smarten up the interior...
The Clio's back! I'm very happy with the cage. Mark fish was a pleasure to deal with. This is the first of the new Safety Devices cage. Now starts the hard work!
Busy week! Sold all of these.....
To help fund some new 15' alloys for slicks because I finally managed to get hold of a set of these........
Brackets to allow me to run the standard 280mm discs which allows the 15' wheel. Happy days
To top it off I received these photos
I literally...
Bit of an update -
Parts have been arriving thick and fast. The poly window set and fibreglass bonnet, spoiler, boot and roof vent are here.
I removed the hubs to be sent away for the roll centre/bumpsteer conversion. Turns out I might need some new brake pads! Also some dust covers. I also...
Thanks for your help. I need new pads and discs at the moment so maybe this is the time to swap. I wonder if my brackets can be adapted to fit the 280mm disc? I presume it's only 10mm difference as the disc is larger 10mm on each side?
I already have the 300mm Brembo conversion and was running standard 182 wheels with 25mm spacers to get the clearance required. I now have 16'' Team Dynamics pro 1.2 alloys and whilst removing my hubs for the RC conversion I have realised that I can now run the new wheels (ET38) with a 5mm...
Max camber I believe! It won't do anymore miles until all the work is complete and then I will get it all lazer aligned again. TBH my friend has set it up but this is the first one he has taken to these extremes. He normally works on more high end cars so I trust his judgment but it would be...
To be honest I can't really say because when I had them installed I had the top mounts changed as well. So before I had a car that would turn any direction it wanted! The combination of the PMS top mounts and the adjustable bushes are night and day! Although the bushes are a lot of money for...
Well this week was a little unexpected for the Clio! I've been trying to keep the Clio looking relatively standard but events this year have lead me to buy fibreglass panel, plastic windows, aero catches and a roof scoop! With all the emphasise on weight loss the wheels couldn't last long (I'm...
The new cage will go through the dash, I have it on order and have said to Mark Fish they can use my car as the test/first car with the new cage. I have been told the end of March for delivery to Mark but I'll hold my breath with that! I imagine there will be a big rush on once it's released!
I'm on the list for the new cage with Mark Fish. I've been told 20th March (approximately) delivery for it and then it will still need installing. Not ideal but the above email above has confirm it will be worth the wait. Ideally I wanted to be using the car again early March:pensive:
I now have black power flex bushes but it hangs low as it's a bit dented and squashed in places. It came off of a rolled Clio! Only cost £100 so I can put up with it at the mement but might swap it out if the right one comes along at the right price.
I run 25mm hubcentric spacers all-round on my 182. To be honest I would rather run none at all but had to put front ones on at the time because I couldn't get the wheels over the 300mm discs & brembo callipers. I hope to loose them with some adjustment to the brake brackets and callipers coming...
At last bits are starting to go back in the car, but only temporary so I can drive the car to Mark Fish to have the roll cage fitted at the end of the month. I was going to paint the inside first but I think I will do that after now as I have lots of body panels coming so might get someone else...
Standard sucker next to the rearview mirror and a little strap. This can be done with cable ties. I have used it with Javelin and MSV no issues. The footage is upside down but the software corrects this once uploaded.
I have also used the two screw mounting point above the clock. This gives...
Bit of an update, these two were waiting for me when I got home tonight (along with some other bits).....
After the above advice and some previous research I went with a Cobra Suzuka for the drivers seat and a Cobra Monaco for the passenger. Controversial split in seats but I couldn't justify...
Yep there on the list, I find the seating position terrible at the moment (I'm 6'1). I've ordered the seats and harnesses today and a deep-dish steering wheel which are going to help. There's plenty other things getting ordered at the moment, I just need time to fit it all 😧
I used a heat gun and a scrapper to get the big bits off. Then some Tar and Glue remover to get the sticky glue that was left. After doing the first section I worked out if I splashed a bit around on the next area and waited 10-15 minutes it came off some much easier! I also used the vacuum...
Result, all of the sound deadening is now out! Possibly one of the most dullest things I have ever done but its finished now! Pretty impressed with the weight of the two carrier bags that was removed. When I get time I will get it painted before it goes for the cage to be fitted at the end of...
Welcome, I predict the M3 will be doing less miles going forward (if that's possible)?! When's Big D getting his? I look forward to when you bring it along to one of our many track days we will do this year.........
Yeah I like the look of the Cobra seats and they seam to get good reviews. I want to be able to use the car at the Ring so the Evolution & Sebring are out of the question due to the winged tops of them. The Sparco seats look good and priced well but a few friends have said they can be...
